I am ecstatic to announce that I have officially joined this great group by purchasing a fine vintage speedster. My speedster arrived from Southern California yesterday and the picture below is my family inspecting it. The car looks brand new and the previous owner only put 3,300 miles on it! I drove if for an hour last night and was a dream come true. Now I have a list of this I want to do to it, the nightmare part for my wife, but I enjoy the slow updates and improvement. Today I am getting some new tires 185/65/15 for it came with VS 165s and it rolls a little to much for my liking. I also want to update the exhaust and maybe the dual carbs. Let me know if anyone has purchased custom exhausts in the Folsom area for I have seen some great examples on this forum but not sure what muffler shop to go to. As well as I would like to know of a good performance/repair shop around Folsom or Cameron Park area in Northern California. I look forward to the comments and suggestions! Just for laughs, I go down to the garage every 30 mins or so to take a peak at her!

Congrats on the car, Trevor!!! Nice choice. I think you really meant to say you spent the night in the garage staring at your car from every angle!!
There are a few other SOCers in your area. Terry Nuckels may have some suggestions for a shop!
Welcome to the Madness...now enjoy the ride!
Very nice! Fine tuning the ride is the fun part. Enjoy!
I am on my second speedster and when I am not in the garage looking at it, I am online looking at pictures of my old one! the feeling does not go away...congrats!
Congrats, Trevor!
Now the real madness begins...carbs, tires, wheels...more performance? Better suspension? 5 SPEED?
I'm in Grass Valley. There's a couple good mechanics in Auburn: Ray Valero of Valero's performance and my good friend, Tony Merjano. Tony has taught me a lot (and helped me spend lots of money!). You've got one of the premier transmission builders in El Dorado Hills, Ken Porter of Porter's Precision.
Other than Internet purchasing, there's BugFormance in Sacramento.
Most guys here usually go with an A-1 exhaust system (Tony Merjano is a dealer for them). Need oil? Brad Penn is what you want. Yep, Tony can supply that as well.
Check out the Events Forum as there is a drive coming up in September, the third annual Tour d'Hoe!
Need anything else speedster-related, feel free to drop me an email: tpnuckels AT aol.com.
Congrats on the car Trevor, and I know the car well !!! It belonged to my son in Southern Ca.and the car was indeed in pristine condition.
He took real good care of it and I'm sure you will too!!!
Its nice to get something once and a while that really makes us feel good about a purchase, when we don't have the chance to see the item up close. In this case you made out !!!I'm sure you and your family will enjoy the little car ,and have fun in it ! Be careful, and be safe in it !!! Dan's dad (Sea-B-Stu ) My plate!!!!
Let me be the first to say "Welcome to the Ma..." What? Oh crap Jim beat me again!
There will be some days when you are certain that it's a nightmare, but most of the time it will be a dream come true. Enjoy!
Congrats, it is a dream come true for most of us....... I just don't think you have enough room for the whole family......
I would go with the A-1 for sure I've been using and dealing with them for years and they are the best. Then of corse there are times I personalize them for a slightly different note.....
Thanks for the replies! You guys make owning a speedster even more fun. Terry, thanks for the info and I have an appointment with your friend so we can go through my VS motor. I will be looking at the A-1 headers and then maybe having a shop do a muffler or dual muffler install. Thanks again and Happy 4th to everyone.
Good deal, Trevor.
We'll have to get together for a little spin sometime.
Congratulations . But you better watch that fella in the back seat he has that far a way look n his eye. Keep the keys on a short leash as time goes by. LOL!!!
