Hello Speedster Owner Friends. It has been quite some time since I've posted and even longer since I was able to join you at the Morro Bay meet years ago. What have I been doing you ask. Having a beautiful speedster built by Greg Leach at Vintage Spyders. The build was all it is rumored to be, yes it took forever, yes it was sometime unnerving, yes I am completely satisfied with the build, yes the details are unmatched I feel in any pan based car. Unfortunately in the time it took getting the car finished my situation has changed and I won't be keeping the car. The car was delivered February 22nd and has less than 50 miles on it since delivery. The car was spec'd after a Carrera GT with fill through gas cap, louvered decklid, wide 5's with drumskins, carrera bumpers and mirror. The interior is moose leather with a Nardi wheel and Porsche horn button. It has all new suspension, frame, front disc brakes, wheels tires, etc. The entire car has been completely redone minus the drivetrain which is the original 1600 and trans. If I were to keep the car I was planning on an engine worthy of the build. I would at least immediately plan a freeway flyer trans for a better cruising speed and 2nd gear has gotten a bit finicky. I drove the car this morning to coffee and as a lot of you know the feeling is unmatched in any vehicle. Here are some photos from the day of delivery and before running to get coffee. Feel free to call to discuss other details and I'm sure Greg would be happy to answers questions of the build as well. Additional photos are available on the vintage spyder facebook page. I'm asking $28,500 or best offer. California Title in hand and registration paid through February 2015. Car is located at my place in Palm Springs.  Thanks. Chad Hilton 213.842.3982

Hey Alan,

Thanks for the message. As noted the price is obo and I will accept offers. I have had a few interested parties since posting here. I did post this on the forum first hoping that someone with real enthusiasm for these cars might be interested in the fit and finish that comes with a Greg Leach car would want more of an input on choosing a proper drivetrain. I'm willing to work with someone if that is the situation. If that proves not the case a freeway flyer will be tossed in and it will hit craigslist. You obviously have an unquestionable knowledge of these cars and I appreciate your input but spec'ing one with the carrera bumpers, louvered decklid and actual leather isn't as affordable as it once was. Not to mention the body work and paint that Vintage Spyders staff is known for. I believe the spyder cap, carrera mirror and beehives are just the icing on the cake. Thanks again. Chad
