B, a cynic might argue the engine builder was to some very small degree at fault here, but let's hope your motoring troubles are behind you.

What does "bad cam gear" actually mean?? how was it bad? did it break apart, have a bad tooth, bad bearing? Curious minds just won't rest . . .
Did the cam gear detach from the camshaft at the attachment rivets?
