NEW Weber IDF Air Cleaners - German Knecht Solex Porsche 356 "Look"

 I assume they bolt down where the velosity stack go, so what holds down the stacks?or are the outer bolts just for looks and dont hold nothing and just locktighted in place?

   (please fix the shroud-0-turin-cars before cooking the motor, if it hasent already been fixed.)

The 4 stainless bolts on the top plate are just for show to look like the bolt pattern used on the original Knecht air cleaners.  They are only 1/4" long and are loctited with nylock nuts on the underside.  Plenty of room for velocity stacks.  The only functional bolt is the one centered which mates up with the riser mount from the bottom plate.  The bolt holes in the bottom plates are the standard Weber velocity stack stud holes.

Very nice.  I wish I could use a tall air cleaner on my engine.

not talking of the top trimm/nuts+bolts, but of the 4 scews in the bottom plate,that fasten the plate to the carburator top [steel bolts to carburator alloy]and if you use locktide there-your bolt will bring out the metal from the carb if you try to remove the bolt later/clear?

Usually there are velocity stacks (air horns, trumpets, whatever you call them) that in addition to their help with air flow, would make it less likely that the attaching nuts could fall into the carb throats.

Dude, that's a screamin' deal.

My engine's pretty far out there to try to replicate a the "Knecht-look", but if a guy has a 36 h/p shroud, an old filter canister, and these, it'd look pretty darned close to "correct".

Still for sale.  Btt.
