I have just about given up on this project. It might be time to let it sit for a long while. Installing the brand new windshield ...everthing was going well. I stood back to take a look at the fit up . Looked good with the exception of a fine vertical line on the passenger side. It was 2 inches then right in front of my eyes it just ran to the bottom. No metal touching the window this time. It's becoming a waste of money and loss of time. Is it possible to repair an inside crack on a windshield? Lexan might be my next direction.

The way I read this is that it wassn't installed yet and it cracked ?
Short 2" crack as you have ( wonder how far it ran to the bottom?) can be repaired and are only slightly visable but are repaired in the car , I can't imagine trying to do the crack repair outside of the windshield frame .
Best to just try to install it and hope that it doesn't continue to run , then have someone repair the crack ....remember the windshield kinda floats in it's surroundings and is not to be drawn up very tight.
The crack is on the inside. It goes from top to bottom. It did not have any tension on with the exception of the top frame. What really gets me was it cost $120 to ship from Calif. What I have heard is that an inside crack cannot be repaired .... only an outside crack. This was only the beginning. There were a few more high $$$$ problems I had. The cars nickname now is "Murphy's Law"
