Has anyone retrofitted a CIP1.com VWC-113-989-955 windshield wiper assembly into their speedster ? I've got one and it's going in this week but I find the instructions vague. Can anyone provide clarification or offer up a real world translation from the instructions given here ?

Lower on the page under Description there are four paragraphs. Paras two and three are either vague or somewhat contradictory to me. Also, there are four positive terminals on the setup but 31B never gets used in the instructions.

Any help appreciated.

David,   From memory here goes....  You have low, high and a ground ( just lightly tap the terminals on the motor with a low amp 12v source to confirm these positions .

If you want to use the powered park position You'll need to ground the assembly then apply 12v ( not from the wiper switch but a constant on 12v source) to either terminal 53 or 53b this supplies continual 12v until even when the switch is turned off until the pivots arrive in the park position. I know this is somewhat vague but hope it guides you. ~ Alan

Positioning the motor shut-off: You will need to ground the assembly and then apply power to either terminal 53 or 53b (doesn’t matter which one) . ONE IS LOW SPEED AND THE OTHER IS HIGH SPEED.  JUST ADD POWER TO MOVE THE MOTOR OFF OF STOP POSITION.

Once the motor is working, the power wire needs to be taken off 53 or 53b and put against terminal 53a to make it park and stop. Then tighten the nut and then your done. PER INSTRUCTIONS, 53A IS THE STOP CONNECTOR AND WILL BRING THE MOTOR BACK TO ITS STOP POSITION.
TEST ALL CONNECTIONS/TERMINALS TO MAKE SURE THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE CORRECT.  DO NOT PUT THE WIPER ARMS ON UNLESS YOU ARE SURE IT IS ON THE STOP POSITION OR YOU WILL SCRATCH THE CAR BADLY............

Thanks, Guys. I don't have any instructions. I may be overthinking things but  I'm trying to get this straight in my head before spending time upside down under the dash.  I may be overthinking things.

So...install the wiper motor in the car.  Ground it, apply + 12v to either 53 or 53b to get the motor moved off the stop position, then remove that power from 53 or 53b  (motor stops ) and then hold it against 53a ( motor starts ) until the system arrives at the desired park position and remove the power from 53a to keep it parked.

Then, wire up the various wires from the switch to 53 and 53b for high and low speed.  53a now requires no power to it as it has done it's job helping to fix the park position ?  What is tab 31 b for please ? Thanks.

No, not quite.  53a needs constant, power from an un-switched source for the parking action to work.  All you're doing in applying temporary power to 53 or 53b is to get the motor off the neutral place it is from the factory (we don't yet know where it is sitting in the cycle) and quickly remove that power.  The motor will stop.  Then, apply power to 53a and it will normally cycle to the motor's proper parked position.  THEN tighten the shaft nut at that park position.  If you want the auto-park feature to work you'll need constant +12V applied to the 53a terminal, and switched power to 53 and 53b for lo/hi action.
