I am semi retired, originally from California, now living in south central Kentucky.  I have been a VW owner since 16 years old.

I always wanted a Porsche Speedster, so maybe now I can achieve my goal.   The forum is great and it has already answered several of my questions.  In order to pay forward to this group, I will be available to travel a distance to surrounding states of Ohio and Tennessee to check out cars for people who are farther away.  I have read where many of you have done this for each other.  I will take pictures,  as many of the for sale speedsters do not portray the real deal, good or bad. I am not an expert, but I have bought and sold a few cars in my day I am 67 years old) and would be willing to help others in the process. I can learn in the process.  Thanks for welcoming me to  great site.

Being a newbie like ecfbob & JSA I’m going to jump in and say I’m happy to join the madness. Glad I stumbled on to SOC. Several years ago I was gifted with a road worthy CMC speedster. My brother had a stroke and now disable so he can’t use it. Back in 94 I cut the pan on the project car then started spending weekends at his house prepping for body installation but my family asked to stop the weekend drive and stay home. Didn’t lose contact with him but didn’t talk about the car. After his stroke I own it and it is stored in the 3rd stall of the garage. Been a gear head for 47 years and can never stop learning.  There is a lot of talent and experience here and I’d like to tap into it.
