Aj has been asking me about how to improve engine cooling. Im sure we have plenty of helpful suggestions...............Bruce

As Lane said, AJ, we need pics! You avatar isn't enough. And tell us about your car- it looks like a flared body, so let's hear about particulars- irs or swingaxle, engine type, size, and state of tune, is it a VW transaxle (ring and pinion if you know it), drums or discs, wheels type and tire sizes? How hard is it to get aftermarket parts?

Hi  ALB.  It is a replica and all still old Beetle. I only started building it now and it is 1600km from where I work so only get once a month a weekend to work on it. I normally fly down for the weekend but in 2 weeks I will drive down and have 2 weeks to do more work. My job card for now is redo the wiring, move the battery to the front install all the outside equipment ( lights, mirrors, door handles bucket seats and and)  Then remove all again.

Mid January it will go I for paint job and then then refit all the parts.

Feb it will go for upholstery and then fit the engine and the 3 gauges that I ordered from Speed Hut.

The engine was a 1600 cc and I just had it upgraded to 1915 cc with twin carbs, racing cam and so on.

The wheels are 17" and low profile tyres but the tyres will be change to little bigger size, disk brakes all around.

To get after market parts not to difficult, but just expensive.

I am trying to build it up as an Out Law, the body is supplied in South Africa, not sure if they import it. 

I cannot wait to take my BB on a run ( Black Bitch)

Looks awesome, AJ! You'll find the 1915 zips it along quite nicely. It's going to be a sharp looking car when you're finished. What tire sizes are you putting on it? Do you know which camshaft the mechanic put in the engine? Are they stock dual port heads?

Gary ( @flatfourfan) is also building a Speedster and he lives in south Africa.  Also, Manny ( @Manny  ) is finishing one about now, too - he lives (or is working) in Angola.  

Not sure if either of those have a body from SA - I think one, at least, built up a Chesil.

The ports also been change and the heads were fly cut.

All  I also need to do is change oil filter system

 Gary's speedster and my speedster were sourced from South Africa, different suppliers.

 As for the Black Sheila this has been the status since May 2018 and nothing further,  back then did minor modifications to all the uneven door, hood an engine deck lid gaps.

 The Black Sheila has been in storage ever since, I am hoping to get momentum in 2019, well I said that back in October this year ........that failed miserably....

Hi Manny, nice to hear from you, jip it is not quick job to build the Speedster. Where did you got the number plate light from? That is one part I am looking for, but price is bit high.

There are many suppliers who can supply these Number plate lights, take note there are two types shine down, shine up depends what your planing to build.

Suppliers are mostly based in the USA , sierramadrecollection.com, vintagespeedsterparts.com and many more.

I know about them, thought we do have one in RSA.

To import is just expensive.
