Hi Theron,
where are you located?

That's the one I mention and is in another thread. It's on Craigslist and ebay too. It was bought over a year ago by this dealer from original owner in Central FL. It had 2600 miles then and he got it for less than $19k. He supposedly sold it to a GA guy with two kids (coincidently the original owner had 2 kids too) and he got it back after another ~1k miles. So 2 or 3 owners with low mileage. We mention the single carb with that remote air filter neck robs HP. It's nearby and worth looking at (I like color combo) but suspect that isn't enough miles to sort out kinks.
Ebay bid is $23,600 now with 20 hours left and reserve not met - suspect reserve is $26k.
Going to look at it Saturday. What do you think is a good max bid. Or offer?
make an offer, its December, its a convertible...U control the $, U control the sale,,if he wont budge, keep on looking, they pop upall the time..

There's no down side to driving the three hours to look at it. On the plus side you get to drive one, you get to touch, see, and feel one, and you'll understand what it is like to drive a car with a smaller engine.
Only you can determine the value ratio as to what you feel all of the notoriety and endless amount of fun it is to drive is worth. Some of us on here have INITIALLY paid less than $10,000 and some on here have paid over $100,000 for their cars. Either way everyone spends more on their car after they get it. The money is spent on either improving the car or simply maintaining it.
Go see it and drive it. Then think about it some more before you buy one.
Seller can always fall back on ebay offer even though it doesn't meet reserve - so better than $23, 600. Have them throw in a 6 month warranty.
Ebay auction ended at $24,100 with reserve not met.
I saw that. I ended up placing my order with Vintage. Can't wait!!
