Hello from Calgary Alberta.

Joined the site today and starting my "journey/madness"...hopefully going to start a build in 2013 and considering going with Intermeccanica...for now, just here to be a "sponge" and absorb all the info/tech I can before starting a build!

Looks like a great forum and glad to be here!

Cheers!

Thanks everyone for the welcome!

I looked at the black IM and although very nice, I just can't do a black car...it would drive me nuts maintaining the paint!

I tend to go for the whites and grays and recently I came across this pic of an interesting colour, although still trying to sort out colour.

The next thing to sort out is air vs. water cooled, so Scro interested in hearing your opinion when you have a chance.

Merry Christmas everyone and all the best for 2013!

Bogart,

I went with the water cooled because it requires a lot less tinkering than the air cooled.  I am not a tinkerer.  From what I understand the car can literally be driven anywhere without the worry of having issues.  I know that the majority on this site enjoy the "madness" of the aircooled and tinkering with them should they need adjusting etc, but I am not that type of driver.  I want more dependability and less headache.  The only thing I am was concerned about was the sound, but from what Henry and Marty ( who is also on this site and had an water cooled engine) it sounds just fine with the water cooled.  Good Luck with whichever way you choose to go!

Large Welcome, Bogart. I don't think you can go wrong with liquid cooled especially if you intend to travel with your car. We've been doing a lot of that and the non tinkering part of the liquid cooled idea works well for us. The heat available is nice too and if you get up into the Foothills often you'll appreciate that. Henry builds nice cars....mine is a late 70's IM version and it's still fairly respectable considering the mileage and the small investment I've got into it.

Hello Bogart.....Like you I'm new to the "speedster madness".  Back in the early eighties I restored a 62 B but sold it a few years later.  Never lost the addiction to old Porsches.   I've spent a good amount of time considering which way to go regarding air or liquid cooled as well as the builder.  Earlier this month I took the plunge and ordered a suby powered Beck.  I am now working through options, colors etc. Although I think I'm finally all set.    Carey says he can deliver it to anywhere I want.    I'm thinking Carlisle.
