Hi All ! My first post of many I'm sure. Been reading for about an hour and glad I finally did. Jeez...how many people research these cars first and THEN look for help from those with the best knowledge? LOL
For me this is both personal and business. I'm hoping to make these beautiful cars ,along with their VW brothers, available to anyone who wants to enjoy the experience for a day or a weekend or even longer. I can only smile when I picture a Husband and Wife enjoying a special anniversary driving to their favorite restaurant in a Speedster. Just a classic vision that I'm sure many of you have had and experienced.
Thrilled to be here and looking forward to the education and sharing in the experience.

Your idea is something I have also kicked around a bit and there is a guy doing it in Massachusetts: http://www.classiccarsandbyways.com/
and it's also being done in Europe: http://www.356california.com/
That being said, it has also been tried in Maui and according to Kirk at Vintage they had big problems.
The two big issues are insurance and the tendency of a non-owner to get in one of these cars and push it to the limits or past the limits.
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts and plans.
