Just wanted to say Hi and had a couple of question. Are there any current get togethers in Sacramento Ca. I would like to take a look and possibly sit in a 356 or spyder if possible. There is a lot to learn I see. I am looking for a wide body 356 kit or spyder. I am not sure which one to get yet. I had a FFR cobra then sold it, bought a 65 Fastback which I will sell to build the new project. I want something the wife will enjoy and I think one of these cars will fit the bill. Quite and doesn't smell like gas. ;) ALthough I would like it to be extremely quick and handle good. You guys sure don't make it easy on who's kit to buy. I would like a tubular frame instead of the pan style. I would assume the tubular frame would lend more engine compartment room. Am I correct on this??? Who has the nicest wide body 356 on here. ;) I want to see some pics.
Thanks,
Jason

I did read that thanks.
When I mean quite, I mean not like a cobra side exhaust loud or the smell of gas from the side exhaust either. ;) The motor will probably be the suburu setup. I have this addiction for speed. lol Has anyone ever taken there car to a road course like Thunder Hill? I really like the JPS wide body. It has the tubular frame but I need to do some more research to see hows it's constructed and what they are using for rear suspension. Thanks
Jason,
Meet us at the 356CAR meeting in Citrus Heights. The meeting is held every second Saturday of the month at 9:00am at Marie Calenders on Sunrise. Not many replicas (2), but a plethora of the real thing and a lot of good people.
No flares, However.
You might want to look up Brian Bell (flared) in the registry. He's got a beautiful outlaw and he's in the area as well.
Then, of course, there's Ray Armstrong (old man). He has a Beck that he's been outlawing over the past few years. He's in Elk Grove.
BTW, the JPS setup is a tube frame up front with the VW rear end.
As far as I know, the only wide bodies available now are either Vintage or JPS. Of those two, only JPS offers the option of a tube frame. John Steele builds a beautiful car, but doesn't offer Subaru power - at least not yet. You'd have to do that yourself.

The only water cooled options at the moment are either a SAS (mid-mounted Subaru), Intermeccanica (rear-mounted VW or Porsche), and Beck (mid-mounted MINI Cooper). Beck also has a water-cooled, mid-engined, Audi-powered Spyder.
I can tell you all are like family here. I think I will fit right in. Thank you for the quick responses, I do appreciate it. I wish I check this site this morning before I left on a motorcycle ride to Tahoe Or I would of come up to Marie Calenders this morning. I do usually work Saturdays but I am an owner so I could come in a wee bit late. ;) Also, If any of you need to use a drive up lift I have one at my shop. It is low enough for a cobra kit car so it will work on the these cars.

Thanks again.
