In addition to my previous questions, I was also interested in how financing might work to purchase a Speedster Replica? Can financing be done on a car like that? Who makes the best kit/turnkey? Reliability, warranty, and customer service are important. I want to use the car as a daily driver, and want it to last.

Duane, don't count on conventional means of auto financing, I don't think they wanna touch these kinds of cars. You may find a personal type loan thru a credit union or bank might be workable. I expect most people here are paid outright, no loan. "The best" - is very arguable,,, best for what purpose? For the ultimate best when cost is no object and highest performance is; I think most here would consider tube frame Intermeccanica with a custom built hi-perf engine to be the best, and that comment may yield an array of argument and opinion. If the best to you means something that basically replicates the original but doesn't have to be the fastest or most expensive, just a fun driver with a basic engine, then you may consider Vintage Speedsters or JPS, VW pan-based. Customer Service? Live near the 'maker' of your choice. I don't mean to sound flip, but I think most here turn their own wrenches on these cars, or they quickly begin to learn to, or they develop a good relationship with the best VW mechanic in town.

The best idea in considering all these things is to search the past topics in the Forum categories, its what I did when I was new and I found it very helpful.
Thanks for the advice. By customer service, I was more referring to how the company is with the whole purchase process and the ordering of parts later on down the road. I had rad some postings where people had ordered parts ad recieved them broken or waited a long time to get them. But, I appreciate the input fromeveryone. Thanx again.
I'll add a little to my customer service comment, I bought used so I didn't have maker contact or warranty issues. I believe you will find the current established makers very responsive and concerned about customer service, look at the comments in "Trip to Vintage" post in Vendor forum. You can find similar praise about other makers. There are also a few detractors who had a customer service problem that they felt wasn't addressed satisfactorily. The makers of course have Speedster parts, and there's a slew of VW parts suppliers - I've had good luck with CB Performance and Aircooled.net. Keep searching this site, if you look thru the registry section you may find a Speedster owner near your location who would probably be willing to show and talk about their car.
