Not a whole lot of info to go on for determining a fair value. Pictures posted here, mileage, year built and by whom would be big help. Also location - as it can cost $2k to ship cross country. A real Porsche engine has attraction for a purest but a detraction for many as they are costly to maintain and even more costly to modify (over a Type 1 VW engine). Look on ebay and THESAMBA.COM for comparable car.
Bad FIDO Terry.

Sounds like a nice car. Given how few miles most replicar owners actually drive in a year's time, I doubt a 356 engine will be much of a problem ($$) provided it is fundamentally sound.

Good luck selling the car. There are some good examples of ad copy, format and content in the classifies of days gone by. John Leader's gray car comes to mind.

A free internet sales venue is Classic Cars for Sale. It's a British outfit and I had success there when eBay, Yahoo.com, etc didn't work for me.
