I seem to make a new list every year because I can't find the previous one. 8>(

Anyway, WX looks like late Spring/Early Summer, with temps in the 70's (at least at this distant point). It could dip into the 50's or soar into the 90's - we've had both extremes over the years.

To register and for entrance to the show field, go to Gate THREE (see map) http://www.carlisleevents.com/ce/events/import/documents.asp

We will have a club tent on the show field, right next to the cars (it is the club anchor on the field) so you can get out of the sun and chat. Enter the field at Gate Three. We should be set up around space 200: Go straight into the field and along the bottom of the hill on the left for about 400 yards, then turn right, heading between the main buildings, then look for the "Speedsters Meet Spyders" tent banners. We've got 100 parking spots - you can't miss it.

There is a complementary car wash area about 100 yds inside the show field on the left beyond the Gate Three entrance (where you register). You can't miss it. Free water and cleaning supplies, garden hoses, all that stuff.

Carlisle events also has some of the best show field food booths you'll ever try - don't worry about eating food or putting on weight that weekend. You'll do plenty of both.

So here's what to bring:

Warm and cold weather clothes - think layering, here.

Some sort of light rain gear.

Comfortable walking shoes - the the show covers a BIG area. Vendor area is 15 acres alone.

TOOLS! (whatever you might need to fix something along the road. We'll have PLENTY of tools for larger jobs once you get there. (if you need my all-inclusive road spares list as a reference, just ask and I'll post it.)

Some sort of water resistant car cover - mine is a Home Depot "Blue Tarp". This is mostly for the night-time dew (it can be pretty heavy) and it just gets you going faster in the early AM.

Detailing stuff (others will probably have some of this, too, plus MeGuire's and others will have vendor space so you can buy it there - hopefully, you won't have to meet Barry MeGuire...).

Lawn chairs, if you can fit them.

Sun Block

Camera(s)

BEER

************************************
I'll be bringing the following (All may or may not be available on the show field, depending on whether Kathy takes off with the truck to find Quilt and fabric shops):

Name Badges for everyone.
Lawn chairs
coolers
Half of my shop full of tools
lots of spares (plus there is a parts vendor area at the show)
A trailer to act as a lift

Carlisle is the cross-roads of Pennsylvania at the intersection of I81 and the Penna Turnpike (I76) They have Walmart, Staples and all of the usual stores there somewhere within a ten minute drive. Car part stores are within 1/2 mile of the show field. All the usual Pharmacies are within 10 minutes of the Hotel.

Hoss:

Just curious. Did you do that dance LAST year?

Nolan: You can register a second vehicle for $15 for the weekend - Your SAS registration gets the SAS and two people in. The second car registration (can be anything - I usually register my truck and trailer to get them in) gets the car and two more people in for the weekend.

So, for $35 bucks, you get two cars and four people in for the weekend - What a deal!!!!!

Susan: Are you and Marc interested in joining the Northeast Caravan to Carlisle? It'll be leaving from Grafton, MA (Mass Pike Exit 11) around 7am on Thursday, and may be be joined by the Pickerings, John Estes, Lenny C., Al and Heidi Gallo and a few others by the time they make the NY line.

Email me if you're interested and we'll get you in the loop. route is still tentative, but probably I90 to I84 to I81 to Carlisle.

This is not my first trip but it is the first in a old V.DUB ,So I would like to see the spare parts list and also would like to know what the most commen breakdowns are on a long trip, car has been running good the last few days , 800 miles could be a real adventure. I always bring rain boots to Calisle or Hershey I have had to be towed by backhoe's out of those show fields!!!!

Gordon, I don't think that we'll be able to join any caravans this year. Marc and I aren't able to leave till the wee early hours of Friday. We've got an auto-trailer rented that we'll pick up late Thurs night. We were planning on driving the Speedster, but after FINALLY getting her out for some drives, even I was a little worried about a 12 hour ride.
And Lane, I've reconsidered the rain gear stuff, because I agree with you that if I don't have it, I'm tempting the rain Gods! See you all there!
Damn right, you will!

I'm still finding mildew from last year, and I don't think Pineapple Jim has dried out YET!

Roger the trip news, Sue. You'll be getting an email in the next few days with a complete list of who's going, where they're from and what their cell phone number is. Please check in with me during your trip so we'll know how you're doing and when to expect you so we can help with unloading and liquid relaxation from the trip. See my suggested route above. I would NOT take I95 and would avoid the George Washington Bridge in the Bronx at all costs, especially towing a Speedie on a trailer!!! If you have route questions, please email me.

Lane: No change. I'm still sitting here in Beaufort and will be meeting Nolan and racing you to Christiansburg, but I'm also organizing the Nor'East Caravan (NEC) while Chris and Karen are out of the country. They'll get back tomorrow and should be on the air by Monday to take the NEC from there.

Peace! Out!

Under the header of things to bring -- before I forget -- Mickey, do you still have the yellow duffel bag I left there in Wilmington?
I think it was in your Scion last I remember ...
There's a leather flying helmet, some goggles and a scarf in there.
You ought to wear them to Carlisle. They'll do you some good on those evening drives, believe me.

Dammit!!! The helmet and goggles have been in there the whole time?! Had I known I'd of been wearing them.
Yes, Cory, I'll bring it along to give to the Mrs.

Like an idiot, I started screwing around with my idle jets yesterday. I got the two that are easy to get to out and cleaned them, put them back in a drove to work. The car ran fine. Last night I ran it down to the alignment shop and it was running like crap! I sure hope I didn't jinx myself and end up having to drive the Scion. Didn't someone mention something about NOT working on your car the week before Carlilse? See you all saturday!!!!
