Yeah nice car but the owner admits to having a GEX engine.

In reference to Volkswagen engines, GEX is considered to be one of the worse possible choices. On a bright note, a GEX engine has proven it self to be one of the best possible choices as a boat anchor.

The seller does say that the engine has been modified to make it better but doesn't say exactly what was done to make it better.

If you take a nasty looking rock and put it in a polishing tumbler, when it emerges it comes out very pretty and, has been modified from its original condition but, it's still just a rock.
They look a LOT like MGB seats........1977+. I found a pix online and added it since I did not have any for my MGB available. They sit really low and many people take them out and sell them. For some demented reason, they put Miata seats into their MGB's, probably because they are too dumb to find new foam and covers. The nice thing about Leyland (and there ain't much) is that when they shut down the Leyland divisions, they sold all the drawings to someone in Hong Kong and you can get ANY part new. If you find an MGB around look at them. Needs to be one of the newer ones with head rests. If you like them, be patient. Someone will be selling the old frame for very little. You can order the foam and cover from any number of places.
Fred---those might be the "other" Vintage seats but they are nothing like the seats under discussion.

I emailed Kirk today and expect that he will email me tomorrow.
I have been wanting to upgrade my seats ever since my 2,400 mile trip to Carlisle and back from Hot Springs. I'd love to get these new seats before the "Tail Of The Dragon" event this fall. ---Jack
Hey Lane--I have the seats that are shown on Vintages site---he only shows the one seat on every car on the site. He might have those that have the cut outs in the back but I haven't seen a VS with them.

What I really would like is the type seat from a 356 coupe , B or C model---but lower that would fit in my vw pan based car.

Thanks---Jack
