They look like they might be a spare tire rim ….
They are. Al B says drill more holes......
Not sure which models (911) used the alloy space savers for their compact spare - but they are retro looking. Some had the smaller holes (965?) and other larger ones (Boxster). Available in 16x5.5". The larger holed ones are considerably cheaper ($85-250) on eBay.

It might be the first pict
Yeah - they are harder to find and that one on ebay was $595 for one!
I'll just never understand how this wheel
could be preferred over this one, but it doesn't matter what I think if it's what you like.

Oh man Troy did you V8 an MGA?
LOL. No just had the stock 1600 with dual SU carbs. I used to take it to the Orange County International Raceway and run it through the quarter mile. They put me in the J Gasser class and I was usually the only one in that class, so I would always take home a trophy. The car had really wide wheels, a roll bar and tape on the headlights and looked like it would be fast, but it wasn't. One night the raceway announcer said "looks like the little MGA is still having problems." but it was actually running as good as it ever did.

Sorry Troy but those two rims have about as much in common as Miley Cyrus and Mother Teresa. The rim on the black car is easy to look at and the rim on your MGA is, well, um, hmm, how do I put it, ahem, near mind. The top rim is a lot nicer looking. No offense meant in your choice of rims back in the 60's. Things were just different then.
Troy do you remember your ETs in the quarter? I'm going to guess mid-17s @ maybe 75 mph?

I agree, they do look different from the other MGA photo, but the wheels on my MGA are the stock MGA wheels except that I had them split and widened. Those may actually be the Coddington wheel on the Black MGA.
My choice in wheels back then was limited by what I could afford while working at the Mobile station pumping gas.
From looking at other MGA pictures, it looks like the wheels on the Black MGA are the ones that came with the knock off option. Mine had hub caps that I removed.

I wish I could remember, but I doubt it was any where near 75 mph. Now that I think about it, I think my car was a 1500 not a 1600.

The Porsche ones are light alloy. They are for the compact spare - hence the red paint. Other than the seemingly high cost per wheel - I wonder if they have that internal safety ridge (retaining humps) that keep the tire on rim if air gets low?

This is one of the wheels I have been considering for my IM6. Pricey, yes, but compared to most custom made wheels, they come out a little cheaper. They are based on the Dunlop wheel that was found on racing XKEs, and come with either round or rectangular holes.

ELEGANT and WORTHY of your fine car! Happy New Year and GOOD HEALTH/SAFE DRIVE in that amazing automobile
I love those wheels. They’d look fantastic on your car, Bob.
It's either those wheels or get some made the same as what Stoich had on his IM6.
Tough choice, and one that I am not rushing (too many other priorities right now).

@Bob: IM S6 Stoich would be awesome wheels on your car Bob.
If your eyes have settle on them and think they are the best.
One of my friends says always wait and get want you want rather than have that, should of, would of, could of feeling taking second best.
fwiw the black MGA wheels are Twin Cam wheels and they are rare and lousy—racers threw them away years ago because the break on the track.
If you buy a set of late 1990s/early 2003 Nissan Sentra or Altima steelies those bolt right on and, powder coated silver and fixed with a fake two-eared knock-off, look the part. And they are 6 inches wide.
Strong but heavy, they also work perfectly as MG TD wheels if you fit the hubcaps on. I came across a set on a T car this fall and did not notice the difference from the stock wheels even when parked next to other legit TDs. The owner had converted to a MGB front suspension and rear axle but wanted to pass as stock. Worked a treat.

I wish I could just get over it and learn this once and for all.
Me too Stan, we need to repeat it often.
