Swapped out the switch. No fun. Not a lot of room among the brake lines and there is sheet metal just below the switch that makes it difficult to get to.
Brake lights working!
I need to go back tomorrow and switch 7.5 fuses to 10's.
Years ago, the German and American ones would last 20 years, but these Asian switches we get nowadays only seem to last 18-24 months....If that.
I finally got tired of replacing them and re-bleeding the brakes so I went to a mechanical switch run off of the brake pedal arm. That was 4 years ago and no issues since.
Read thread way back by DrClock about the third brake flasher module (and others I'm sure). I got 2 from Amazon for $12. I recently installed one for the third brake light on '16 Miata. I feel a lot safer driving it on "Blood Alley" HWY 98. It even wakes up the blue haired snow birds in their Cadillacs. (It's the big lifted Ford PUs that really scare me).
It flashes fast 4 times then 4 slower flashes - then solid. It only works with LED third brake lights. The 2nd one if for the Speedie. We seem to loose 1 motorcyclist a week in season - more should add this for safety. Easy install and comes with double sided sticky tape for mounting.
