went to put the car back in the garage today and noticed the oil pressure gauge previous owner put in (electrical, not the kind with oil to the back of the gauge) was at 0, the engine had no obvious noises etc. I remember seeing the sender with the slide on spade when I changed transaxle, its still hooked up, tomorrow I plan on checking connection and was wondering if anybody knows if I ground the wire should that peg the gauge ? trying to narrow it down, gauge or sending unit, and if its the sender anyone know where to get one ? thanks Darrell

Ground should be one extreme of the gauge, open the other extreme, I would think.
Key On, remove wire from sender spade and ground it, the needle should peg to the max. If not check 12v at the gauge and try grounding the designated sender spade on the gauge to see if that pegs the gauge.
Alan if it pegs the gauge I would assume its the sender connection or the sender, any idea if its a common sender with thread pitch and range of scale or is the hunt on ? thanks.

By grounding the wire off the sender and if it works then it's the sender, if grounding the actual sender spade on the rear of the gauge and it works then it's the wire. Photo of gauge and sender would help to ID it.
