Sorry, I'm going to post another stupid question (left you all alone for a while).

 

I have my CMC wiring diagram so I'm good to go. My problem is I've never seen a 356 tail light setup work. Am I correct in assuming the narrow part of the tear drop is the turn signal and fat part of the tear drop is the dual filament bulb for running and brake light?

You should meet Wray Schelin at "Wray's Pro Shaper" down in Stafford Springs, CT.

 

The TYP356NE club did a tech session there last Spring and Wray created the centerpiece of the nose of a 356A coupe, from a flat piece of metal to custom fit in about an hour, mostly on one of his custom-built English wheels.  He does classes for those wishing to know how to do sheet metal shaping and fabricating, too.  Really cool, down-to-earth guy.
