No tail experience

What shop is that?  Thought it might be Rainer Cooney's up in NH, but the background is all wrong.

Fat part of the teardrop (outside end) is Turn and tail lights, Narrow (inside) part is Brake.  

At least on my car it is.......

The inner "narrow" part is the running light, the outer "fat" part is the turn signal and brake light. But since yours has a dual filament bulb, I'd probably make the outer bulb running/turn and the inner bulb brake.

Rule of thumb: turn signals are on the outside of the light so they will be seen better from the side.

No that car is in CT which makes it REALLY appealing. I'm fine welding sheet metal and doing body work but the lack of frame and the whack on the driver' side isn't good. Rusty Tubs would probably part it out.

Since 356s are unitized, and don't have a separate frame, I would think that all of the missing stuff on the underside of that car renders it as yard art at best.

You should meet Wray Schelin at "Wray's Pro Shaper" down in Stafford Springs, CT.

The TYP356NE club did a tech session there last Spring and Wray created the centerpiece of the nose of a 356A coupe, from a flat piece of metal to custom fit in about an hour, mostly on one of his custom-built English wheels.  He does classes for those wishing to know how to do sheet metal shaping and fabricating, too.  Really cool, down-to-earth guy.
