As far as the traffic jam at Sears Point goes..... Take HWY 12 (Jameson Canyon) or American Canyon from HWY 80. Do an expedia or orbitz map and check out Hwy 12 or American Canyon. Address for the Viansa Winery is 25200 Arnold Drive, Sonoma.

If you are coming down from Sacramento let me know and we can get together. I am in Dixon, right of 80. By the expdia map, I am one hour away from Viansa Winery.
Eddie,

As per our previous phone conversation I won't be going on the tour but with all attending I am sure some people will take some great shots of the cars and drivers. Be nice to have captions of the cars and drivers! With Hot August Nights next week,(leaving Wendsday) I think this tour of 700 miles RT would be a stretch for this old body in the heat. Next Year! Everyone enjoy, sounds like Eddie has really cooked up a feast!

Just an update, Mr. Warren was not able to get a tour at Farneinte Winery, but is working on another tour at a winery that has a collection of Ferraris and other exotic sports cars. Also several winerys are having parties this weekend, with food and live music, so we may find ourselves with too much food, music, wine and fun. "not" Looking foward to a great time! Eddie
Wow!! it is near mid-night and I just got home. Most everyone else spent the night at a fantastic Victorian, that has enough garages for everyone to park inside! Eddie, Fantastic!! Mr. Warren (Rick) Thank you very much. You are a most generous host. Your hospitality was endless and, I know very appreciated. Thank you.

8 speedsters, a Speedster "D", BMW convertable, a SAAB, and a Land Rover all participated over some of the niceset roads in Napa and Sonoma Counties. Two wineeries, about 150 miles, no accidents or car problems (when I left Sat. night) and great BBQ Chicken ala Clay Harvey, flowing beverage at our BBQ, meeting some wonderful new friends, and those that spent the night are heading out again Sunday morning for more miles and another winery.

This was a great event, and the Northern Californians that missed it, MISSED IT! I sure hope it becomes an annual event.

Thanks again Eddie, Rick Warren, and all those that made this day so wonderful.

Pictures Sunday Im sure.
I wanted to thank Eddie for putting an amazing run together(very nice paint, btw),and Rick Warren for being a very cool host. I also want to thank the chef,(Clay).Nice cars, nice people. I was so impressed with the other speedsters I went home and buffed out a shiny spot on my car.
Eddie:

Very nice event. I guess we've come along way since our Opel Gt's. Always fun meeting new people as well as seeing many familiar faces.

Had fun keeping up with Dale on the long drive home. ( Beautiful car and still searching for those darned headlight gaurds) We lost Kurt on the way out.

Always fun running into Dick and Roxanne - we'll have to do the Santa Cruz Mountains Winery Run soon.

Clay and Eddie - looking forward to the Tahoe Run - will our cars breathe up there?

Thanks Rick for sharing your two wonderful homes, your knowledge of the area, and the tour of the Napa Valley Opera House.

And in case your wondering - my ass has recovered. :)

Hey guys (and girls), what a great time was had. My guess is that most runs are not this delicious and or entertaining. Rick, thanks for the great hospitality. I was really bummed not having my car but it was worth doing it in the Saab. Hopefully things will be worked out for the next one. It was great meeting all the members and I hope we can put together a Santa Cruz-Monterey run, maybe for Pebble Beach Historics.

For those of you who left, in the morning we did a nice tour of the property which included the Guest house, tree house, and mineral springs fishing pond. Dick tried to drive the WWII vintage D7 Caterpiller... can't keep a gearhead down...

I will post some pics really soon. There were a few good ones including one "on the road" pic that I messed with in Photoshop. hope you like it. Eddie, thanks for putting it together and I got a nice shot of your car at Mario's winery.

Michele, I guess your followup means you missed the late night bubblebath for six...
Thanks everyone for the kind words, but really I'd like to thank Rick Warren and all of you for supporting this event. All the planning in the world is for not if nobody participates. I had a great time meeting everyone, and putting faces to all the names. I hope this encourages more people to organize their own tours at the places they know and like. I'll try to make the Wine Run annual event. Jay thanks for the great shot of my car. I hope everybody had as much fun as I did. Eddie
What might be more interesting - if more difficult to plan and coordingate - is a meeting of two loosely connected geographic groups, for example, the east coast guys driving northwest and meeting up with the central US guys driving southeast at some agreed upon location at a car show or whatever. This would probably be a 3 day weekend type of deal.

First Annual Porsche Replica Concours, Tire Kicking, and Bragging Rights Rallye. We could make it a knock-off of the Terlingua Chili Festival.
