Last year I had the misfortune of not being able to join the Napa/Norcal wine run. Ever since completing the car I've been looking forward to being involved for 2004. Will the 2003 organizers be planning another similar Napa run this year ? I would hazard a guess that many of us who have recently completed our cars are not looking for 1000 mile enduros, but hoping for events that are local to us, in an attempt to locate and fix any new speedster bugs.
Are the North bay guys interested, and can I asisst in moving something like this forward ??

Gary,

See my post on the Or/NoCal October run. By October you should have enough miles to join us, great group coming so far!

Bruce, the Eagle Point Guy,

By the way an aptly named town as a mature Bald Eagle and its youngster just went fishing in the pond in our back yard and flew home with a fish for lunch. Really a thrill. We get an Osprey each day but first time in a year we've had the Eagle. Big guy!
Love ya Bruce, But in spite of the fun that I enjoy with this car, neither the co-pilot, nor I find the speedster comfortable for interstate trips. And I'm not a big fan of trailoring....Looking for just some single day 100 mile jaunts with the group.
Hope your loving the new motor....

You missed a great one last weekend - winery tour in the Santa Cruz mountains - stay tuned for my pics and comments, but believe me, it was a blast.

I'm all for setting up a run or two here in No. Calif. Theres alot of us in the area, and we've got some great roads/destinations basically in our backyards. My success at drawing people to local shows (Parts Heaven - 3 speedsters, and San Carlos show (just me and Dick) hasnt brought out the group. Maybe the run idea would work.

Comments/input from the NorCal group are encouraged.

Union City Dale - (not to be confused with Dixon Dale)
Union City Dale,

Dale, you drove you're Speedy to Knotts so why not Grants Pass in October? Thinking about a wine run here on one of the days. We have some nice vineyards in the Applegate valley with some great paved two lanes. Fall color should be showing by then and the weather is still nice that time of year. Cooler but still nice, hot here now but that's good for the grapes, LOL, hope you can make it anyway.

Bruce
Gary,

My wife Suzan and I have been scouting roads here East of Sacramento in Gold Country vineyards and Wineries with a possible Lake Tahoe connection North ... or South towards Ironstone winery (They cater to car clubs and have nice grounds).

Eddie Janis came by a few weekends ago and helped do some scouting in the area.

Anyway, our Summer is well-booked for now, but we may try and put something together late in the year...??

It will be hard to measure up to the fun Eddie mapped out in Napa/Sonoma last year though.

I'll post when things start to get ironed-out.

Brian.

Roxanne and I would love to do run and I pretty sure Union City Dale would come also. The Nevada City area is a great place to over night we are heading up this weekend for the bike races in speedy. Dale and his lovely wife Carol had a great time with us in Santa Cruz mts. A great place to taste wine and great roads for the speedster I would love to do it again in the near future.

Dick
