Hey, folks...

I've had some issues come up that will keep me here close to home for a short while and I won't be coming to Carlisle.  Looks like you'll have a great crowd this year there, too.

Anyway, I'll hopefully have my transmission back this week or next (it's supposedly in transit ) and can get the car back together and will then be looking for some Speedstah events around New England to attend, like some of the Hemmings Motor News Cruise nights up in Vermont and, of course, Lime rock.

Have a great time, take lots of pictures and don't buy anything I wouldn't buy.

Oh!  I've also heard that Al and Heidi Gallo won't be making it this year.  They had planned to go early and tour Gettysburg, but that's out, too.

Looks like Peter Venuti will be NE Caravan Leader this year.  Dashingly handsome (just like me) but driving a Black IM, not a White CMC like me.

Danny,  Totally agree on raising a glass to our MIA brothers and sister from the NE(probably more than one glass). From the sounds of your post you might not be leaving to latter in the the day keep us posted.

Rich,  thanks for the info.  I will reach out to Carl directly to see what hes upto and we can go from there.

Chris, let me know what works for you.

Peter

Those of you worried about the weather, Danny Pip posted the following a few minutes ago:

"I like this forecast a lot: http://www.wunderground.com/q/zmw:17013.1.99999

Awesome graphs with the timeline at the cursor.

It looks like the rain will be Thursday late night into the morning, then clearing out for Friday afternoon and evening leading into a good Sat and Sun. Wait until Wednesday to be sure, it really is only a good forecast two days out."

Have faith, Hoss is dong his no-rain dance and it's worked many times before.

Hey Jerry,

The caravan wont be happening the way it has in the past. A few people have dropped out for this year do to unforeseen circumstance. Also some schedules are up in the air so most are heading down on there own(I believe there are five of us at this point). That said I believe everyone will be taking I 84 south(look at the beginning of the thread for the route and timing assuming I leave my house at 6am) at some point or another that day and everyone is exchanging cell phone numbers so we can keep in touch if necessary (I will send them to you in a dialog). I'm watching the weather to determine my departure time from MA but I expect it will be first thing Thursday morning.  I will have a walkie talkie on monitoring ch 7 as well.

If you decide to drive over to 84 let me knwo and we can meet along the road.

Peter

This is just a heads up to the NE folks. I am from Central Ma. I drove 275 miles last night and landed in Wilkes Barre, PA for the night. I hit a lot of road construction on rte 84 from Port Jervis New York for like 10 miles on Rte 84. The road goes to 1 lane for what seems like forever.bits a narrow stretch with high barriers on each side for an eternity. I hit it at night so I wasn't really slowed up, but I figure it may be a nightmare by day. Also, the road is in tough shape after the construction area with a lot of uneven pavement and pot holes. Just an FYI in case there is a way to avoid this portion of the road. Happy Cruising!
