Northern Va/DC to Carlisle Caravan plan

Count us in. Maggie and I enjoyed last years caravan as a fun and positive part of the whole Carlisle experience. The same plan and timing will work for us. Thanks for starting this thread, Schu.

What Syl said--for us, the caravan is half the fun of Carlisle.  Dinners together in Knoxville and Christiansburg, VA then a big group lunch in MD then blast on into Carlisle arriving in force with maybe 10 Speedsters.  Nuttin' better!

I'm planning on driving up and joining caravan.  I'll be in SUV and offering tow and dry seat insurance.

Nice offer, Wolfgang!  Will you be joining us at Knoxville?  Looks like you'd take I-65 to Birmingham then I=59 to Chattanooga and I-75 & 40 to Knoxville.   We actually  stay Thursday evening 5/13  at the Hampton Inn at Lenoir City just West of Kxville.  There should be 3-4 of us there.  We usually get dinner at a really fine place a very short walk from the motel.  If you need it the number is 865/988-2000.  The next day we leave mid morning for Christiansburg and 5/15 on in to Carlisle.  If you want hotels where we're staying lemme know.

Greg, are you coming up in a route that would meet up with Jack in or near Knoxville?  You could join up with us for lunch and the drive to Christiansburg on Wednesday, and then on to Carlisle on Thursday.  We ARE the party!

THXs for info.  I'll either head up I85 or I95 to Richmond VA then east on I64.  I still have VA land on lower Rappahannoch River and plan to stop there and get it listed with realtor.  Spend night or 2 there and then join up with Schu and DC gang. Anyone looking for WF retirement property in Lively VA (even has dock, shed, septic, 25' trailer and motor boat)?  

I wish I could be there! We had so much fun in 08.

The lunch meet point on Thursday is at the Red Robin in Gaithersburg MD - 701 Russell Ave. right off of 270. Meet between 12:30 and 1:00 - we will eat and head to Carlisle.

And just to be clear, the other half of the NoVA/DC contingent (let's call it the MD branch, and to name names: Cory(Hoopty), Jeni (Mustang Sally) and me (the limping Red Baron) will be heading out from Clarksville MD to the Cracker Barrel near Chambersburg at around 11:00 AM, to meet any/all of the above and the South East caravan (Lane, Jack & Co.) plus  whomever else they pick up, at around 1:00 PM
