I'm in Washington. I an thinking about car buying options. I am strongly leaning towards a roadster/convertible D not a speedster (roll-up windows and better top). Just looked at a used IM built in 1985 - I'm thinking I might want a little less rustic (i.e., newer and maybe subie powered). Any SAS owners in Washington or close? I'd love to check out your cars and hear about your experiences. Thanks!

Check out the Intermeccanica website.  Henry always has some good cars for sale, if you are interested in one with roll up windows, etc.

KMeador, there is a small community of VS owners here in Seattle. i just had a VS build with a removable hard top and plexi windows to extend the driving season.  Owned a Speedster while at the U in the 80's, and my first VS (which I purchased used and enjoyed while living in Spain).  Both had hard tops, and it did make a difference in wet weather.

The hard top does a decent job of keeping more water water out than the soft top. But realistically the driving season is limited due to the wet fall and cold winter.  New car was caught in today's heavy rain... With hard top little water came in.  don't cross VS off your list... They make a nice product.

You may want to check out the Redmond town center Exotic Saturdays gathering...every Saturday morning (weather permitting- if more than30% chance of rain they cancel.  Their web provides great info... Also, check out the gallery for weekly pictures of some AMAZING cars.

there are always a couple of speedsters (original and replica) there.  Great place to meet local owners, dealers and shops reps.  happy to share my lessons learned.
