NOT MINE but in Sarasota FL. Unmolested classic body kit with NO pan/chassis/trans. Funny thing in ad is it says " Build it your way without having to spends $$$$ on a complete kit with parts you don't need". I know I got some pieces with my CMC that some folks are too lazy to install (front support ahead of gas tank and the front fender wheel closing bits) but things like hinges, seats, bumpers, windshield, top frame are needed and are quite costly when you add cost up. Maybe he has them and just didn't mention them. If they are indeed missing it would escalate the cost to what the kit cost back in late '80s (about $8k).

Maybe these are some of the un-needed bits? Must not have the steel subframe installed as these closing pieces are attached (riveted/bonded) to that subframe.

This is one of those situations where you'd be best served to buy the best you can afford. If this is all you can afford, you wouldn't be able to afford to finish it. When I read 'hood, engine lid, and door skins' I wondered if it was just the outer 'skins' and not the inner structural pieces that go with them.
I once looked at a partially started speedster that didn't have any of the inner pieces. The owner kept saying it's better and 'easier' to just graft the skins to original metal door, hood, and boot pieces. Soooo glad I walked away from that deal. What a mess.
Best to the seller. Could be a neat project if you had all the missing FG bits. The rest can be obtained pretty easily these days.

I was curious as to what $3750 would buy so I emailed him and got this response:
"You are correct about what is included; I am not sure if anyone has the trunk and hood liners or wheel wells on any kit... The inner doors may be needed depending upon your build. I have fiberglass parts only, no frame/chassis or trim... all available online at various suppliers."
HA!, No wonder home built kit cars get such a bad rap! Most of the parts supplied are only there to increase the shipping weight - and are meant to be discarded! Leaving the wheels out you have better idea of speed and road conditions. Muddy or wet road and you'll know it - quick. Hood liners, while handy for hinges and hold down clasps, aren't really needed if you use multiple hood pins or leather straps. The heavy steel subframe only adds extra weight that slows you down. I like the Miata gram philosophy of cutting weight - but also like cars with opening doors and ones that don't fold in half when a door is opened.
If you need the front section or the rear section for repairs - this might be a good $800 buy (if you can pick it up). Or you what to reskin a Subaru Impreza.
Would it be possible to buy this and re-skin a Boxster and make our own new modern Speedster? JKJK
IMHO I would not buy that body and attempt to get the remaining FG parts needed and expect them to be adaptable...just not going to happen even if you have mad glazing skills. This body would be great for a tilt up body drag car and that's about it
They do sell fiberglass resin in 55 gallon drums and bondo in 5 gallon pails. At $3750 NO WAY.
Hi all, I currently have molds for all CMC panels , inner and outer. Just in case anyone is interested in in buying that body shell. BTW I am in Fla but I do not have any affiliation with that body being sold in Sarasota..
I think his ad (ads - he had it posted 4 times!) were taken down on SAMBA.
You have the wide body molds from Jim A here in Crestview? Any idea what an inner engine lid liner might be (color not important)? So if some one needed a nose or rear section - could you produce them? Would be a good east coat source. Many would like to see a 2 grill rear engine line or one with louvers.
Yes I bought Jim's molds, and yes I can make parts available to all. as to the engine lid liner are you talking about the inner lid panel ? if so I can make you one let me know what a fair price would be. I will be showing you all my wide body build real soon . Talk about an outlaw. did not intend to kidnap this thread I will start one soon.. John
