looks pretty good to me.

I agree, good looking Ghia. I’ve been on the fence about Ghias for years but this one might sway me...
I've owned two Ghias in the past, and both were nice driving cars. Both could have used some more h.p. so this one looks good in that department.
I am taking a risk saying this - but here goes. I look at one of these and in my mind compare it to what a replica 356 coupe goes for. ... hummm?
Well if I ever bought another Ghia to redo I might just duplicate a speedster dash and wheel setup it just begs for an updated look
and seats too
I agree Ray. All that would really make this all steel, retro car , a killer / well built ride.
As a teenager the Ghias were considered really just junk. But what a cute style. I really think they have potential and are a bargain too. Maybe I need a larger garage?
That rear-view mirror though. So cool. We need to get one for Jim.
Very nice car!
Carlos, the ragtops are really cool in my books I had a 1971 coupe and they sure have their rust issues.
I found one up here but the guy is in love with it an asking a fortune even though to do it right it needs a frame off restoration with all things going to media blasting.
I would rather buy another FGlass car if I have to go over every bolt if the price is not reasonable enough to do it.
But my take on a Ghia would be a 2110 cc engine 3:44 tranny, sway bars now that would make it move. I have a eye on a 2002Tii 1973-4 but again the car needs to be completely redone even if it is solid so this OCD condition does not help as you want to make it Purrrfect.
prices seem to be really going up the last couple of years thats why i bought a decent driver awhile back

ive got a 74 1 owner ghia under my deck belongs to my SOs father, doesnt want to sell it and its just sitting there going to hell..its needs a total restore.
74 has the more modern plastic dash.
So very, very cool.
I'm not really Ghia guy, a buddy had one when I was a teen.
I'd be more interested in the VW Thing - same guys Dad had one I thought was cool. They were a German family and VW through and through and always had a variety of cool Bugs in the driveway in various stages or running/restoring. This wasn't theirs
Neat restoration here - http://www.dastank.com/dastank.htm
I think the car is perfect except for the rug-covered gauge console. Personally, I've always liked those wheels. That's the Ghia, not the Thing.
I've done two of these and just got a '74 'vert, mainly because they only made, would you believe, according to records 1588 of these puppies in 1974, the last year of production. The really sell pretty quickly.
Love My custom 69 Vert and all the other VW's in my collection. Of course none of them are stock or with stock power plants.
