True story:
I once had an empty box delivered to me with someone else's address written on it and a shipping label with my info on it just sort of dangling off of the end. But my package was no where to be found.
It appeared as though the two packages shared close proximity at some point in their journey and the empty, damaged box that came to me had both addresses and MY box was now floating out there with no shipping info on it at all.
UPS was no help and I just couldn't make the people involved visualize the mishap that might have lead to the erroneous empty box delivery. Two boxes colliding and the label coming loose from mine and adhering itself to the other.
As a final last ditch effort, I went to the US depot near the Cape Cod rotary and implored the "lady behind the counter" (the universally DREADED lady behind the counter; as featured at any Department of Motor Vehicles country wide.) to visualize two powdered donuts riding down a conveyor belt, they brush against each other on route. Now one has a lot of powder on it as it should, but the other ones has a small amount of powder on it's end. Similar to the empty box that was delivered to me had a small piece of shipping tag on it. I got the box or donut with the tag fragment while the other intended box or donut if you will is still out there undelivered.
She stared at me as though the dog just spoke and pretty much shouted, "You'd have to be a FOOL to send donuts through the UPS ! ! !
No lie, no joke, just the simple truth. And yet, wiser words were never spoken, and I live by them to this day.
"I ordered new seats that were to ship overnight to me as a cat fowled mine."
Of course this begs the question, Wanna sell 'em?" I don't mind a little cat juice on my seats one little bit. I'd be interested in getting them from you if they aren't TOO much coin. Shoot me an email and we can work out the details . . . maybe?!?!?
