This Beck popped up on Ebay. My interest is piqued due to its proximity....

The dealer is asking $29K which in my opinion is a bit much for a car with this many miles underfoot. Parts of the interior look pretty tired. I honestly don't know enough to make much of the undercarriage pictures.

Anyone willing to offer what may be a fair price here? Keep in mind that Carey sells spiffed up low-milage rides in the low $30s.

I built the car here in '07 for a client in Michigan.  He was forced to sell due to financial hardship in the winter of 2011/12.  It went through a complete factory inspection and "refresh" before heading to it's new home in Springfield, IL in April of '12.  It had 8000Km at that time.  That is the last I heard of it.  Looks like the new owner put almost 9K Km in under 2 years.

It was originally built to custom specs; Raby built 1915cc 120hp TI, Rancho pro-street gearbox, stock brakes, sidewinder header with oval center exit, Carrera badges, 356C mirrors, Nardi wheel.  It pretty much looks just like I remember it.

As for the undercarriage, there are some spots that look a bit rusty, but only surface rust... easy clean up.  Likewise the brake drums and axle tubes look a bit rusty, but no big deal.  Spare tire is missing.  As noted above, some wear in the seat bolsters and the top is a bit faded.  Everything else looks solid, as far as I can tell.

IMHO $29K is a fair price.  Not a steal, but fair.

"Fair but not a steal".  That's as it should be. Folks loose sleep worrying about getting that last dollar and miss out on a lot of great deals. A fair price is ok by me every time.  This is a good looking car with some gteat stuff;  A beck, check. A Raby engine, check. I'd jump on it if I was in the market for a Speedster.
