~17k miles isn't high at all.  I have more than twice that.  The only wear I see in the interior is some leather dye worn off from the driver entering and exiting the seat.  It's also got the Jake Raby fan shroud that they worked on together.  If the price is high it's only by a little to allow negotiating room.  

The speedo is in kph so it is only about 10k miles.

Yup, I forgot that part.  I have nearly 40k miles on mine and it's still going strong.  10k is nothing for a 2007-built car.  That's only around 1400 miles a year.

As Lane pointed out, 10,000 miles is nothing; if it was built properly and well taken care of the engine should go 100,000 miles or more.

Shoot.......It's not quite completed the break-in at 10K miles!

I built the car here in '07 for a client in Michigan.  He was forced to sell due to financial hardship in the winter of 2011/12.  It went through a complete factory inspection and "refresh" before heading to it's new home in Springfield, IL in April of '12.  It had 8000Km at that time.  That is the last I heard of it.  Looks like the new owner put almost 9K Km in under 2 years.

It was originally built to custom specs; Raby built 1915cc 120hp TI, Rancho pro-street gearbox, stock brakes, sidewinder header with oval center exit, Carrera badges, 356C mirrors, Nardi wheel.  It pretty much looks just like I remember it.

As for the undercarriage, there are some spots that look a bit rusty, but only surface rust... easy clean up.  Likewise the brake drums and axle tubes look a bit rusty, but no big deal.  Spare tire is missing.  As noted above, some wear in the seat bolsters and the top is a bit faded.  Everything else looks solid, as far as I can tell.

IMHO $29K is a fair price.  Not a steal, but fair. 

Yeah, I'd take that motor for sure. Carey builds a helluva car! Like Carey said, fair, but not a steal.

"Fair but not a steal".  That's as it should be. Folks loose sleep worrying about getting that last dollar and miss out on a lot of great deals. A fair price is ok by me every time.  This is a good looking car with some gteat stuff;  A beck, check. A Raby engine, check. I'd jump on it if I was in the market for a Speedster.

Thanks to Carey and everyone for their perspective here. I have been pretty set on a water cooled car. This could be my gateway speedster. If I like it I can order one that meets my specific preferences hot off the factory from Bremen. I've spoken with the dealer. He has the spare.

I have basically the same Raby engine and I can attest it is rock solid. Of course you cannot go wrong with a car that has gone through the Special Edition inspection.

What Jack said x2 forever. I've bought and sold lots of stuff over the years and I still feel good when the buyer and seller are happy to make the deal.

This, especially with a Raby engine sounds like a nice one.
