Nothing is easy, and no aftermarket gadgets seem to just “bolt on”. The emblem for my front trunk handle had to be trimmed and curved. Any of the wide-five wheels I’ve ordered had hubcap clips that were too far apart for baby moons to fit properly. The curve of the deco-trim doesn’t match that of the bumper’s without extreme assistance. And now its nerf bars.

I ordered them from Vintage Speedsters. They looked like the same ones available anywhere and came from the folks who built my car, so they should just “bolt on”. But no. The holes don’t even line up with the car’s mounting bracket. Not even close. Or maybe I’m missing something.

Either way, it makes me wonder who makes this stuff and how it keeps getting passed off as viable honest products.

Kit car?  I always say,  " yes , it's hand built ".

When I installed my carbs, linkage and manifolds, I found that some of the parts that were supposed to be threaded were not , and the manifolds needed some machine work on the inside and outside. I'm lucky to have a friend with a machine shop to clean up and improve the parts.
