Spent the Winter weather-striping and plugging holes all over my VS cabin body. Worked on getting the top/side curtains air & water tight by adding snaps & velcro. Installed a "functional" right side rear view mirror and a luggage rack. The last touch was the addition of original style, painted wide 5 wheels with aluminum drum covers to go along with all new brakes and front end alignment.
Thank me members.... Because I have done all this stuff, I predict that there will be nothing but SUNSHINE on the big week end!

No caps for me Dave!
Actually, CB Performance (who provided the drum covers and wheels) states in their web add that the front covers will not work on their 5 lug disc brake kit. WRONG! They fit like a glove and even keep that pesky "disc dust" from getting onto the outside of the wheel. CB was quite pleased to hear that the covers work with their popular brake kit. They asked and I sent them the photos.
See ya at Morro!
Warren...
I went with the silver painted wheels 'cause I like the ol' time, original look. However, I think chrome is easier to find.
As for the exhaust, it's the more 'n more popular "Sidewinder" from Tiger at A1 muffler in Orange County. His # is 714 836 7201. I think you'l like it!

These are pretty pricey because they are going out of production very soon.

Chrome 15 x 51/2 are non existent. The outfit in Brazil quit making the chrome versions in October. I've been able to find one. But, I'm with you, maybe the silver painted versions look more authentic. Isn't that the point of doing the wide five thing, to make it look more authentic?

On the exhaust system. Does the muffler position make it hard to adjust the valves? Sorry about the mispells, but does it go fast, look cool, sound good or all of the above?

Did you guys have to go to the shop for a fitting or did they make it up and send it to you. Obviously it fits a VS, but I wonder about a Beck. The system I have now has the heat exchangers but nothing is hosed up. Looks like I would have to do a lot of makeshift stuff to make a heater work. It looks like yours has all the heater plumbing. Karen is really interested in getting the heater working. The car was built with all the duct work, but not hooked up. Well, I guess the original Carreras didn't have heaters, but she doesn't care about that. Got to keep the little woman happy, you know. She won't fly with me, but will drive with me.

I can add a little info to that as I have an A-1 system as well as the heater boxes on my Beck. You have to swap your stock heater boxes for larger diameter boxes with flanges rather than slip-fit joints. The header just bolts on, but the muffler needs some modifications to clear the rear frame rails and the underside of the engine compartment bodywork. Check with Carey at Special Edition and he can hook you up. It sounds gooooooood!
Not yet. Carey has been working with me on the fit of the muffler, and I don't have the permanent one on it yet. That should be coming next week. I'll post pics when it's on. Wait - I have a picture of one from his shop that's in the process of being modified. I'll post it and edit this message.

EDIT: Here's the pic. The straps are there to hold it in place while it's welded. He then cleans up the welds and has the bare steel powder coated like the header. I chose the hidden exit due to driveway clearance issues, but he will also sell you the out-the-middle type like MUSBJIM has.
