I have seen VS cars with square weave from the factory. Just ask Kirk.

Be aware when it gets wet, it doesn't dry very nicely and smells like a wet goat. Looks really nice though.

My brother is a stay-at-home dad and getting back into the upholstery biz now that the kids are a bit older. He said that there are some newer synthetic carpets which have the look of square weave, but the durability of marine carpet. I'll post here once I have seen a sample.

If you have a pan based car, you're in luck. Any supplier that carries interior kits for an Oval Beetle ('55 was a nice year) will have the rubber mats and tunnel kit for sale. They came stock on 55's.

Of course, since your pan was shortened, you'll have to shorten the tunnel mat as well. If your shifter or e-brale were relocated at the same time, then . . . forget it.

Just hit the web and go for it!
