C'mon folks. If your interested in joining us, go ahead and make reservations as soon as you can. So far we have four out of 12 rooms booked. It's looking like a good time will be had by all.

Lane, did you count mine?

Yup. You, Hoss, Richard Pascale, and me. Don't know if anyone else has reserved yet. We only have until late July (45 days before arrival) to guarantee the rate. If we reach that date without filling the block I will need to release the unreserved rooms or be charged for them (I think). Ewww.

Clint Owings and Aaron White will be there as well, but they are locals, so they don't need rooms.

C'mon y'all. You know ya wanna.

Those that feel an extra day or two is needed, I'll be glad to discuss possibilities of the great roads around Lake Lure.

We will be around for a couple of extra days

Alice and I will be there---just overwhelmed with work right now---I'll book rooms before late July though.

I believe Russ is also joining us but will ask today.

We'll get there Thurs 9/8.

Aaron, I'm right here in Cedar Mtn, NC. Beth & I will be at all the events, I'm just 30 miles from the Hilton.

My SAS Turbo CAB is almost done, they have been test driving all week....so we will have car to go.

Looking forward to starting the madness and joining as many rides as we can find.

I'll not forget this time...

Had enough of stayin' home and ventured out with Merlot, yesterday. I found and drove on a road that will keep the best rally driver on his toes and nose! Horseshoe and hairpin turns with reverse elevations! I was into the first turn before I could set-up! Just about lost it! Love the new seat belts! There are NO road signs indicating the upcoming curves! Very near Asheville and Lake Lure.

More roads to come as the knee recovers.

Felix--Alice and I arrive Thursday, early afternoon. We could do the drive from Hot Springs to Asheville in one (long) day but will be stopping in Nashville to have dinner with friends. We were planning to leave Asheville Sunday morning. Looking forward to seeing you!---Jack

Sounds like we've gotten 7 or so rooms reserved out of 12. The price is good for about another month, so any of you who are still undecided might want to take that into consideration. WOOHOO! Only 2 1/2 months to go 'til Mountain Madness 2011!

Lane - I have reserved a room - I know we were going to stay at home but we decided to spend the time with the group..... is that ok. If someone needs the reservation just let me know.

Aaron, Friday dinner - 2 Apps, 2 Alpine Kreuter Butter Steak, and 2 Deserts and a bottle of Riesling.

Is there any other information, selections, or reservations that we need to do??

White Lightning should be done in about 2 weeks, drove her yesterday we were trying out the AccessPort and Turbo - she shifted from 3rd to 4th around 90 and took off like a scalded dog over 100.... Steve lost his hat!

Clint---smart approach, staying at the event hotel. There is more fun, wierdness and entertianment "after hours" than during the scheduled events.

I hope we will have a "gathering room" like Carlisle, Morrow Bay, etc.

I haven't asked for a gathering room, because we didn't really seem to need one last year. I can change that though. I'll call 'em Monday.

Clint, staying at the gathering place is a lot of fun and you are certainly welcome to do so. I would rather have to ask for more rooms to be added to our block than to have a couple left over.

Yes Scott, better get the rooms while there cheap(?). Since this is your second time around for MM, you know what a great time we had.

Lane, A gathering room sounds good, if you get one, I'll see if I can find some good ole Florida swamp water to put on the bar. I did see some Key West brew that looked interesting, if that fails maybe some Land Shark?

Hmmm... Starting to look like I might need to add a couple more to the block. I'll ask about that when I call for the gathering room.

The temperature along with the sun has climbed, so the foothills are very warm. Merlot is ready to go and knee will just have to "take it".

I'll be checking out the routes as described in an earlier post. For those that want to stay over to farther tour the area and drive the roads that I've described, please email me. I'll need to know the numbers along with your desires. What arrangements or plans for overnight stays.

Also a posting of the menu selections will be done again and a form to be sent to me so that I'll not "screw-up" your German meal selections.

Would or might be better if I did another thread or threads to cover the stay-overs and meal. This one has become very lengthy.

Aaron, I must have missed something. Are we supposed to order our meals from the German restaurant in advance? I must have dozed through that one.

The answer is yes, some of the dishes are very time consuming to prepare. From an above post:

I've booked The Bavarian Restaurant & Biergarten for 6:30 PM Friday night September 9. We will be offered a choice of one of 4 entrees. Why...real German food takes prep time. I've listed the selections below:
