Oh Crap! oil pressure takes a dive | 356 Speedster, 550 Spyder, Replica, Automotive Community

Red light stays on for 30 seconds after start-up, only gets to 10 PSI at cold idle, 20# on the freeway. Now I'm concerned!
..........Turns out it was merely a faulty VDO oil pressure sensor. The thing lasted almost 16K miles before it expired, but it sure got my attention when it did!

Live and learn? Ernie, you gotta learn NOT to drive it on the freeway with only 20 pounds of oil pressure showing!

That coulda been one of those, "I learned not to do that" moments!

Dave..... What the heck do ya think alerted me to the problem? (the fact that my pressure showed low).
Anyway, it all ended well IMHO.

Hmmm...This is making me think of "teeing" in a mini mechanical pressure gauge next to my VDO sender.
