Have you priced a set?  I considered those for my now sold Speedster, if I were going to keep it.  They ain't cheap, brother.

I said I wanted those wheels, not that I could afford those wheels.

What can I say.....I'm a dreamer.

This coupe - it's color, it's profile, and it's wheels - harkens me back to the insatiable lust I had for Chuck & Maggie Martin's little coupe!

And I agree with Troy that its deck lid louvers are overkill.

I acquired a louvered deck lid 'skin' from Carey that has but five very prominent & aggressive louvers per side of the grill.

It's going to be 'impressive' once I get up the nerve to chisel the existing non-louvered skin off...I'm such a nervous-nelly coward!

"Who would turn the car down?"...(asks Bob IM S6)

Nobody of course who can come to grips with, and psychologically cope with, the inevitable paranoia of taking something so valuable out of the garage and onto the potential dangers of a public street.

Then of course there's the enormous disposable income required by DMV as registration sales tax based on purchase price, followed by an annual property tax based on escalating blue book values...and of course the annual insurance premiums based on astronomical replacement costs!!

So, there's a profound truth in Marty's comment that "...it would almost look (be) as good as an IM"

Carl,

I'll pay the state once, when I buy the thing (reluctantly, but honestly). The "personal property tax" of your state would drive me to move somewhere else. It really would.

I struggle with the entire concept of paying for the privilege of continuing to own something I already paid for the privilege to buy and continue to pay for the right to drive.

Yes, we have nothing like that up here.  You buy the car, pay the tax on the purchase, then just need to buy renew your licence each year.  Property tax is based on the value of your house, not any other possessions.

Granted, we do get taxed sufficiently in other ways.

We do indeed. After a hard day or so working in the unusual heat here lately, I rewarded the crew with subs and a case of cold brew. Went to the local outlet and bought 24 cans of cold Coors Lite. Yikes....$42 Cad.

I commented to the cashier that I had bought a case at Carlisle, Pa last May for just under $20. She politely mentioned to me that we don't have to pay directly for hospitalization in Ontario. Ooooh, I said...point taken indeed.

Care either way...we're gonna pay for it.
