The importator is actually checking with Kirk, but maybe it will be safer to go for a "slightly tuned" 1600, i.e. add a 1.25:1 needle bearing rocker assembly, and a good pair of carbs (weber or kardon 40mm)? Any thought on the 1915cc offered by VS ? I really just want more torque in the low/mid, and a reliable daily cruiser. Thanks for your comments
What ever size you go with, just have it built with the best quality parts you can buy, and don't worry about cost. Second, talk to the engine builder if you can, or talk to another engine with a good rep. and make a list of everything that you want in the engine, brand and size. You won't regret paying close attention to this part of the build. Eddie
An excellent source of information, for the person who wants to have a larger (more horsepower) motor built, is Air Cooled Net's 'article' section of their website.

Thanks very much for the advice, it's clear it's worth to pay attention on who is putting what in your engine, and that's why I'm borring you with my questions ! Being in europe as you maybe have noticed, it's hard for me to pick up a builder. So did you have a name to recommend who's working with VS and can deliver a "measure made " engine for me, or did you know if the "stock 1776" engine from VS is decently done. Or should I simply take the standard 1600, run it for one or two years, and then upgrade locally with a guy I can choose and check myself ? Again thanks for your wise advices. A swiss builder will take me 5k$ to rebuild the 1600 standard to a good 1776 with forged pistons and new heads. Maybe worth to do it "ex work"
