Ok, I fixed my previous gland nut/flywheel problem. I'm now on to the next problem. I have an oil leak. When the car is running, it drips out of the bell housing. The gasket around the flywheel is brand new. The gasket inside the flywheel is brand new. Is it possible that the engine is leaking around the camshaft bearing? Is it possible that my new main oil seal is bad? Any suggestions? I've had the motor out 4 times in the past 2 days, and I'm about ready to buy a new one.

Thanks,
Adam

The crankshaft seals can be tweaked a bit and leak even though they're brand new if they weren't put in carefully and correctly. An installation tool is worth owning. I've had this happen twice so far.

The cam button could be leaking if you didn't install it correctly and/or didn't use a dab of case sealant around the opening when you put the case together.

The O ring in the flywheel doesn't often cause leaking, although . . .

Most likely a poorly installed crank seal.

Sorry, pull it out one more time. While it's out change everything.

Engine cases have been known to crack behind the #3 cyclinder and cause an oil leak, at least. The hotter the engine gets, the worse the oil leak gets. On the back of the engine case, with the flywheel removed, look to the right of the crankshaft hole opening for any hairline cracks. The cracks are often vertical, and may start or end at an oil galley. I hope this is not your problem!

If it is engine oil it is probably the flywheel O ring or the crank seal, either way it has to come out a 5th time. If you used a Brazilian gasket set the O-rings are a bit too fat and tend to get cut on the end of the crankshaft when installing the flywheel. The solution is to debur the end of the crankshaft, use lots of lube when putting on the flywheel and use the German O-rings. If it leaks that bad it shouldn
