I have new vdo gauges and wondering what oil pressure sensor I need to use on my vw engine for the dummy light. TIA

VW Part number 021-919-081BH
Try to get a German one (although they're getting hard to find)
Bugcity.com has them in stock, Aircooled.net has a Brazilian(?) version, CIP1 does not have them in stock.
CB Performance has them as VDO at $44. OEM VDO units are very good. Avoid senders under $30 as they're junk and tend to leak after a short time.
Yeah, I think Tom here wants the VDO dual sensor, it has a variable output terminal for the gauge and another terminal for the idiot light.
The answer to which VDO sender is needed depends on the range of the gauge. VDO has a good website, you should be able to find what you need. Thread size of VW oil port is 10mm x 1.0.
Just to ask , is there a USA or Japanese sensor that does the same thing,
I assume it changes the resistance depending what the oil pressure is ,
Do all VDO oil pressure gauges use the same sensor ?
I know the idiot light oil pressure switch has a number stamped on the side to tell the pressure it turns on the light.
There's a Brazilian Youtuber called Marcello Tonella who's a very experienced aircooled VW mechanic and he swears by a Brazilian brand called Intermec for the oil pressure sensor.
