As some of you may remember, I have been very slow completing my CMC Speedster.

My engine has been assembled, but unused, about 25 years.

I am wondering about the valve springs.

Do I need to be concerned that some of them have been compressed by the pushrods and rockers all that time?

Thanks.

AFter 25 years of sitting, I would probably disassemble that engine if for no other reasons than to check for internal rust and lubricate the bearings.

Think of this way, if you had a couple of hundred pounds of pressure on one spot of your hand for 25 years do you think your hand would be injured

While there, replace all the valve springs, cheap insurance
