Older CMC on VW pan-Jacking problems???? | 356 Speedster, 550 Spyder, Replica, Automotive Community

Hello, and as you can tell I am a "NEWBIE" to the speedster and I just purchased one that was built in the early 90's on a VW pan, The question being, will I have any problems jacking the car up from the side ports? This is a CMC tub.

Nope....jack to your heart's content, although I'm not sure what you mean by "side ports". If you mean those square tubes just behind and under the doors, sure, go ahead.

In fact, from the forum list top screen, do a search on this site for:

sub frames in the pan-based cars

and read the thread. I did exactly what you're asking and backed it up with pictures of the result.

I think the front axel beam or the bases of rear shocks would be better jack points - especially for a floor jack or bottle jack.
