Picked up the car from Henry this morning.what a smooth runner...but seems odd not to be driving the Soob. The engine is smooth and strong and shifts very smoothly. Roomy seating arrangement with very comfortable seats . Very good space in the trunk. The higher windshield and well fitted top are a bonus for comfort too. The Espar heater/defrost blows hot and strong.

We're in Hope,  BC tonight and over to Castlegar tomorrow.  Our itinery is loose and slow paced and weather related. Beautiful mountains here. Not much to add...all looks good right now. Later....

Got over to Castlegar, BC today as planned. All runs well. A beautiful drive on BC 3 East and reminded me now and then of parts of Colo and Utah. Osoyoos, BC would have been an outstanding place to stay but the timing was wrong.

The roads are in perfect condition with passing lanes in all the right places and the speed warnings for the corners were bang on for our type of driving. We looked for elk, deer and bear but saw none. Off to Medicine Hat, Ab tomorrow into the flatlands and cooler weather. Later...

Got over to Medicine Hat, Ab just now. Everything running fine. Excellent ride again thru the Rockies. Warmish temps and evidence of recent snow but roads bare and dry. We literally drove up though the clouds for a short stretch this morning. Coming thru the Crowsnest Pass was a genuine treat. Quite wide actually, way more than expected. We're well into the flatlands now..in fact the Alberta Badlands area.

Still haven't seen any wildlife yet other than the two Bimbetts in the booth across from us at the Black Rooster Lounge last night. They were comparing tattoos quite a bit and had some dandies in various places.....had the crowd's attention for a while.

We're in the Quality Inn Jaccuzi suite now and off to dinner soon.

Thanks for the invite, Jack but we're heading straight home. Lot's to do there. off to Whitewood, Sask tomorrow. Later.

Heat and defrost is sufficient but something is buggered with the main switch Henry said. It runs fine but shuts off after 5minutes. Restart requires one to disconnect then reconnect Molex power connector. PIA but it works. I know zero about this but will look into it later.

Car handles very well and has plenty of power. Passing speeds from 60-75/80 are a cinch. 27 mpg US gal overall.  Build sheets will be sent to me soon.

I'm pulling a Crosby and park under the hotel entrance canopy and avoid frost etc.

Landed in Kenora, ON just now. All running great. We passed through the longitudinal center of Canada today. Never thought they'd put up a sign for that.

Had a bit of fog and road  ice this morning and had to be careful . The open prairies turned to hills and trees surprisingly quickly, four lanes all the way to Ontario and in great condition. Now we'll be two lanes on hwy 17 till home in 3 long or 4short days.  Bush, hills, trucks and curves but plenty of passing lanes. Thunder Bay is next and we may hit heavy rain the next day...like 2" in one day so a layover is likely.

Just made it into Sault ste. Marie. Spent three nights in Terrace Bay due to weather. One part of hwy 17 near Wawa got washed out but we got thru one lane today.

Started in slush today, and passed thru some black ice, snow, ice pellets and wind and a bit of sunshine. Plenty of history about Lake Superior around, especially the Edmund Fitzgerald. Thinking today about Gordon Lightfoot / the big lake Gitchee gumee.

Ten more hours of driving to go. So much for that song "Six days on the road". 10 days of travel now .....Car running well. Later.

Installed nicely at the Hampton Inn, North Bay, On. Excellent room and the car up on the patio under the canopy. 4 hours to go tomorrow. We've now done 4,527 km or about 2,811 miles and that eqates roughly to the distance from our house down to Satellite Beach, Florida and back.

Thanks to The Merklinator for mentioning the ad. I think I got a pretty good runner.

Well your certainly going after the distanced travelled record on the first trip with a new, used car.  Good to hear the vehicle is running good, is your right foot tired yet?

Right foot, knee and butt cheek are numb....I sure could have used that cruise control you guys were talking about especially in the prairies. I'm still amazed how good the roads were and all other drivers were very considerate in the dodgy weather.
