I just wanted to post this shot of my Excalibur in Estes Park as one of many reasons to come to Colorado for a meeting of the Speedster folks from both coasts. This was taken a week ago on one of the drives I would take you all on.

(look carefully and you will see my smiling bride in the passenger seat. I thought she would make the picture perfect leaning on the fender ... but she got girlishly shy !!!)

Come to Colorado next year ?!?!?!

Gordon, Allan,
I'll be counting on you two (I don't know if Loveland can take that much smiling!)

James,
These motors run great at this elevation and really don't need retuning for the short time you will be here. As to trading in the wife ... don't do it! (costs more than a couple of new Speedys). Just do a Yahoo search about Estes Park and show her. I guarantee she will love the trip and the time here.

Happy Trails,
Dusty
Lane,
All is tentative on my end, depends if I get the speedster done (should be) Truck fuel would be around $1,300 at current prices.
This is a long way off"... distance too. Yes, I would very much like to do this but have to consider a minimum of 24 hours drive time each way, two days to Colorado and return. Equates to a week off from the business and that is costly. But, seriously considering this. We all will see how this develops participation wise, as all are good intentions on the inception of an idea.

Sounds like Alan needs a bigger trailer.......

Chris and his DSM co-horts do a thing called the "Diamond Star Shoot-Out" in Ohio every Summer. They have 6 - 8 trailers in a caravan heading there from New England.

Started out with half-ton pickups and trailers a few years ago, and most have now graduated to Mega-Torque Diesel pickups with aftermarket chip-kits so they can cruise "somewhat above the posted limits" in the middle of the night (believe me - these trucks will do that without breaking a sweat, even with the trailers).

I can just see it now......Alan's three-car hauler surrounded on I70 by a convoy of a half-dozen singles. Kinda like the "Enterprise" aircraft carrier with it's 16 ship support flotilla....

"Hang on boys.....we got us a CONVOY!!.........
Bruce & Lane,

If this happens and if I can wrangle a way to go, you guys will have A and B slots.......... Mucho ~ mucho fuel boys !
Half a dozen singles...I'd leave bread crums so they can find there way :)
2007 Dodge Ram with the 5.9 bullet proof Cumming add on Quadzilla chip is unreal, fully loaded trailer and still maintains 55-60 mph pulling mountains in WV, while I watch the fuel gauge drop, I'm just waiting on the torque converter to come flying out from under the truck :)
