A spot has opened up for my Fall Leaf-Peeping tour of Vermont. I am holding this initial group to just eight couples to be manageable and see how this plays out for possible future rides where I might lead a larger group.
Replica cars are welcome, but this will be a leisurely few days of foliage colors so I'm expecting mostly rental cars, especially as we're from all over the USA and most will be flying in.
The tour will start at Hartford Int. Airport where we can all arrive and meet on October 9, staying overnight near the airport to get acquainted, then depart on Oct. 10 on a meandering, two-day, downloadable, Google-Maps guided ride through the Berkshire mountains of western Connecticut and Massachusetts with stops along the way including the vintage "Gas Station" of Hemming's Motor News in Bennington, VT. We'll continue at a leisurely pace with stops for Vermont Country Stores and lunch, then follow VT RT 100 through small villages and towns like Woodstock and Newfane, arriving at the Kitzhof Inn in West Dover, VT where we'll stay two nights.
Using the Kitzhoff as our tour headquarters, we'll be taking the Inn's "Vermont Covered Bridge Tour" seeing over a dozen of these picturesque masterpieces and along the way seeing some of the prettiest towns and villages in central Vermont. The tour is curated by Simon Ferris, owner of the Kitzhof, and is downloadable to your smart phone so we won't get lost.
The next day we'll depart the KitzHoff Inn and meander our way south through parts of New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Connecticut to arrive back at Hartford Airport, stay that night and then fly out home.
The tour currently has the following members and their wives:
Gordon N.
Stan G.
Panhandle Bob
MUSBJIM
Bob Carley
AL Gallo
EdsNova

Cost:
Right now, rooms near the airport are in the $160 - $180/night range - I'm still working on that for two night a few days apart. Most Rental car brands are readily available at the airport, as are nearby restaurants.
The Kitzhof Inn in West Dover, VT. is giving us a terrific group rate of $359 for two nights, breakfast included. That is a really good rate for the peak of Vermont Foliage Season, when half of the known world heads to New England. Check out their website - This is a quintessential Vermont Country Inn with an Tyrolian twist because it is very near the Mount Snow Ski area and it is run by a lovely couple very into cars.
So that's it. If seeing New England Fall Foliage (which is Spectacular) is on your "Bucket List" with a small group of people you know, this is the tour for you, but you have to act fast as I'm personally holding that last room so we don't lose it. The Kitzhof cancellation policy is penalty-free up to 1 week before the dates so if someone cancels I might be able to squeak someone else in at the last minute, but trust me here - I do not want to get into the mode of "herding cats". You're either in or you're not.
If you're interested, please private message me and I'll give you the details on how to reserve your room at the Kitzhof and will add you to the list.
If you ever wanted to see some terrific fall foliage, this is it. Send me a PM.
