A little bit of an engine fire? Those cars are great, though. Lots of good memories of cars around that year.
That is a fairly easy fix:
Up front purchase investment is going to be a bit rich though....
New suspension bushings, brake hoses, misc hoses and belts, reseal and detail the the motor, chassis black engine bay paint, media blast the hood, windshield rubber and glass, some dash work and a bit of wiring and carpet followed by a decent repaint. ( add in another $1k for misc. ) $7 to $9k and you're good to go and end up with a $75k plus ride.
PO already put a modern master cylinder in it.
Damage to the dash area alone appears to be severe and would be costly and could include a total rewire to do the job properly. How bad is the smoke damage to the interior?
A car is only original once.
$75K for a car that has a salvage title, spliced wiring and a $5k paint job is wishful thinking.
