DO NOT DO IT!!!!!

if you thinking about buying from Thunder Ranch or how we call it Blunder Ranch, it is a BAD IDEA....

They have a reputation for taking money and not dealivering. If you do make a deal and get a car, it will most likely not be what you ordered and will take 2-3 times as long as you were told in the begining....

Bottom line, go to classis or vintage speedster and get what you paid for in a good amount of time......

I am actually considering one of their 718 RSK's. No one else makes them unfortunately. I plan on buying a new Beck 550 spyder as well (from Special Edition, Inc.).

I would be buying from a dealer of their's. I could probably arrange a small deposit and full payment on delivery, which would eliminate my worry of not getting my item.

I am also not in a rush to get the kit, so a long delivery time is actually an advantage to me.

I am more concerned about the fact that I would not get what I ordered.

Any opinions about the quality of the product once it is delivered?

thanks!! This is very helpful!!!

Matt,

There are other companies doing the 718 RSK

Also any money you give to Blunder Ranch is a bad idea. I know for a fact that they can not do a car with payment on dealivery. They might say they can to get the down payment. But there is now way they can. They can not even pay their employees most of the time. They have been re-saling the same car to multiple people for years to get the money in. I know of atleast three cars that have had more then three different colors aplied to make different customers happy and get more money out of them.

I know of for a fact 3 different people that have lost more then $10,000 each to blunder ranch. So if you feel like giving some money away, play the lottery, you have a better chance of getting something for it......
Tom,

Would you like names of people that you have screwwed out of money.

Would you like the list of people made public that you have infact stolen from including my current boss.

Or maybe a list of past employee's. I'm sure they do not have a non disclosure agreement. I know I would not sign anything after not getting paid. How about the guy that came to us and after being hired we received a letter from you that bashed everything about the guy. A letter that we did not give to him, but could if you want to go to court again. I'm sure he would enjoy the slander suit.....

How about a list of companies that have bad checks from you that you never made good on.

As far as us stealing Bruce's design, No way. In fact one of the first shows that we were at when Bruce was there. He came up and looked over our product on display. I asked him what he thought, we got to talking and he said (and I quote) " he had come over because some had said that we ripped off his design, and this was in no way a rip off of his design". Bruce's has a great product, and I refer people to him when they are looking for just a bolt of system. Our system is ment for the person after serious performance improvements. I've talked with Bruce many a times and have no issues with him. He and I understand the differences between our products and understand that we are after differnt markets.

As for my current employer, I would not say he is your friend, in fact he is quite the oppisite. After makeing a deal with you to use one of your cars for a show and offering to pay you with a fully pollished Mendeola 5 speed (that I made sure you got). We had installed an engine that was loaned to us, which we tried for months to get back from you and there was always an excuse why we could not pick it up. You then desided to keep an engine that was not part of any deal, and sell it with one of your cars. So when are we going to see the cash for the close to $20,000 engine that you ripped off.

anyhow if you want I can even supply you with a list of customers you are currently screwing around or past ones.

Just tell me which list you would like to make public and I'll post it up for everyone to see.

As far as slamming me about things, coming from a person like you means nothing to me. You are not worth the physical beating that others have given to you for ripping them off.
I wake up everyday and sleep great at night knowing that I have nothing to hide or try and remember. The truth will set you free Tom. You do remember what the truth is, right?

As for me I've been building cars for over 25 years with many of my cars being in magazines all over the world. I have never had to rip anyone off and will never, something I know for a fact that you can not say. Talent, is that what you call ripping people off. If that is talent then you can keep it and I'll keep living right.

What else do you got, bring it!!!!
Tom,

As far as me telling the truth about Bunder Ranch (yes I spelt it that way on purpose) I will take every opportunity to inform people about how you do business until you change your ways (not likely). I feel the more people that know and spread the word that less chance of another person falling prey to your rip off sceems.

Better keep looking over that shoulder, you never know who is coming for what you owe them....... Two words "duck and weave"..... :)
No. I'm still here.
Just watching and listening.
Not much to really say.....
He hates him, he's a liar, he says this, he says that....
Usually forums are more helpful than this.

Thunder ranch seams to have a good reputation (except on this thread).
If I decide to go 718 I will buy from them I think.

Any other beneficial input is welcome.

Thanks y'all.
Mattnshilp,
So glad you stayed! There are really great guys and gals here, as previously mentioned in another passionate thread, very much like a family, warts and all. Very dedicated and enthusiastic about their super fun vehicles and very supportive of each other! Lots of great help and info from novice to master technicians.
They are all sincere and super generous with their very individual opinions and advice, thats what makes it a great forum.
Enjoy!
Mattnshilp--I stand corrected and apologize for my remark.

I've been a member here for 5 years and threads like this one are extremely rare; usually the posts are quite cordial and enormously helpful whether you're seeking info on builders, as you were, or looking for technical technical help with a car. I would have sold my Speedster at 1,000 miles without the kind and wonderful help to get it sorted out that the SOC folks have provided me!

Apparantly someone has an enormous grudge and used your innocent inquiry as an excuse to launch. Of Course Tom gave as good as he got.

Many of these sorts of spats can be comical but this one was about as ugly as I've seen in my 5 years. I'm very sorry your first exposure here was like it turned out to be, including my own comment.

I will add that you can get some information on builders by selecting the "Makers" tab above or by emailing a member who has a make of car you are interested in. Best of luck to you and I hope you decide to take the plunge and find a car you like.
