Alan,
I'll see your devil and raise a couple points:
Most of these little cars see more time in the garage than on the road so the little battery tends to drain.
Add to this, most of us are running several more options than their distant cousins: high-quality sound systems, H4 headlights, driving lights, oil cooler fans, alarm systems, etc. These items draw power, easily over-taxing the OE batteries.
The Optima series, although expensive, solves the power problem. They can hold a charge for a year, start in sub-freezing weather and they're a dry-cell format.
We spend a ton on car covers, fog lights and custom wheels. An extra Franklin for a great battery is well worth it.
Kingbao, check them out at Summit Racing. They have good prices and they'll throw in a hat with your purchase. Get the red top unless you're running serious sounds.
The PC680 also weighs about 15lbs and is so small it can be mounted just about anywhere. I used one in my driver '72 911 for several years with no issues. I smoked one by welding on my car without unhooking it, but that was obviously my fault. I also lived in a warm climate where I didn't need a lot of cranking amps, but either way, it was plenty of battery for my 911. I bought mine from Chuck at Elephant Racing, but IIRC, they are cheaper at batterymart.com.

Here's a picture (not mine) of the battery next to a wristwatch for scale. You can fabricate a tie down bracket for it pretty easily out of a flat piece of aluminum from a hardware store.
