Orange Plaza Car Show

The Orange Plaza car show is this Sunday in Downtown Orange. If I have the Chevy up and running again, (had to replace the cam and lifters) it will be there. If not, I will be there sporting the speedster. Show is from 9:00-3:00. Looks to be a great day. About 500 cars of all makes. If you come down give me a call 714-376-5634.

Thread hijack...This Sunday I will be displaying the T-Bird at Texas Looseys, in Redondo Beach at a small show (100 cars) corner of Camino Real (sepulveda) and Palos Verdes Blvd....

I bought a new crate motor from BluePrint(Marshall) Engines and after 500 miles there was a ticking that followed the engine speed. I took it to the speed shop down the street to discover I had a bad lifter, and a few of the others didn't look good either. I followed all of the start up procedures, and even bought one of their preluber tanks. Even though there is a 3 year 30,000 mile warranty, it is basically voided with self-installation.

Robert - how was the show?

was wondering robert what kind of oil were you using,and was it a flat tappet cam or roller, with flat tappet you need zddp adivative. bill

The show was great. 100's of cars and excellent weather too.

Got the Chevy up and running again. It has a brand new hydraulic flat tappet cam installed by Santa Ana Speed (yes, it is a real place!)

I am using Rotella 15-40 weight for the break-in as called for in the instructions due to the zinc content.

So far so good, great power, and a nice idle.

you might think about putting a can of the red stp in it has aditional zddp, what you need for a flat tappet. bill
