I was just out running a few errands and some guy while waiting to pull into a parking space decided to back up into my Speedster! Fortunately the only apparent damage is a broken front license plate and some residual rubber/plastic from his bumper on my paint. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove it without damaging the paint? Thanks - Mickey

Mickey -

I can feel your pain!

I'm sure that a lot of other owners, including myself, have watched nervously as the driver in front of you pulls a bone-head move and all you've got is some puny horn that goes "Beep".

Do as a lot of us on this site have done and install an air-horn (compressor driven). This should improve your chances of alerting the next bone-head driver of your where-abouts!

Peace - Out!
Go to a Napa Store and ask for Klean Easy,,wax bug and tar remover. Its safe for both laquer and urethane It takes a minute to sofen up a rubber smuge like you discribed .

Just apply and continue to rub gently. Don,t get heavy handed and you will get a nice result .

Then touch up any scratches . and wait a day or 2 before you apply the wax.
Warning This is a real good wax stripper..

You will want to rewax the area with a non silicone wax a time or 2.

GOOD LUCK I hope you don't find any scratces. That would be SWEET
Thanks guys! I'll try one and or both of those and pray for no scratchs. I was SO PISSED OFF I was shaking! I jumped out of my car and screamed "GOD D@#* IT!" and about 20 people came swarming over. The guys wife said "How do you expect us to see you in a little car like that?" and he quickly told her "Please honey, you're not helping." I guess because I shot her a look that could have cut through a foot of steel. He was very apologetic and I kept my mouth shut for fear of not being able to control my words. He said he would pay for any damage though after a good look over I think all there is is the scuff and my mangled (but repairable) "MEIN 356" german plate. I am very interested in the air horn setup. Is there a thread or does anyone have any guidance? Thanks again - Mickey
Those are nice air horns. they sound italian.

I've had a couple close calls and wish I had a set of those Extra loud train horns like the ones in Jc Whitey .over 160 db. I don.t cut in front of folks and would appreiate the same curtusy .

I understand your anger very well. I even had one igit slam on brakes just after passing me. He got more than he bargan for. after he cruncked his ride under someones boat.
I just kept going and made the Hp call by cell.
