I kind of do the same. When I first got my '55 plates I put the stickers on it. Then I went up to pick up my distro and Ed had his on these cool retro-looking tabs, so I heatgunned the stickers off. I haven't got around to putting them on. I just keep the current reg and the stickers in the door pocket.

This is the frame I bought for my original 1957 plate.

Here is an old shot of my first IM in 2009 when we lived in our country home.  I was the second owner and since then it has had two more owners.  It is somewhere in the west coast of Canada.

It was a burgundy/brown colour that looked black depending on the light.

That's how my Sprint Veloce's "Aubergine" was. Depending on the light and the angle, it looked variously maroon, purple, brown, or black. Lovely color.

Love it, @Scott S! We also used the Speedster for a school bus, at least until all four were in school and no longer fit.

From a few years back...

Here's a couple months ago when my wife was out of town with our only practical car. Even as they grow, they can still find a way to fit. At least for a couple blocks.2020-12-11 19:48:13 +0000

This is not Seal Grey and it isn't a Porsche colour.  My issue when choosing a colour was grey is grey but there are so many that it is hard to pick a grey colour.  My suggestion is to look at as many greys as you can and if you goto the P dealer they have big metal square samples that make it somewhat easier but in essence I tried to find cars that were grey where I could see a bigger sample size.

Then I had to imagine the colour in my mind on a 356.  Lastly, I looked at photos but they do not tell the truth.  It might look good in pictures but not in real life.

When I was picking out paint for my Mercedes hood and hatch, I looked through about 50 pages of silver swatches, 10 to a page. Same with the Reds when I picked a color to match my '69 Ducati.

Intermeccanica in Canada built it is a Jaguar grey colour  I don’t have the paint code but goto a Jaguar Aston Martin dealer and look at their cars for colour choices

in the end the P silver rhodium and p roadster grey is pretty close to my colour if your looking for a P colour

Here is a way to see al P paints since day one the choices are only limited by your imagination

The goggles!

I finally found mine a couple of weeks ago. There are a lot of cheapies on eBay, etc, but I got a really nice glass pair from Italy a few years ago, and lost them. Found them when my son asked to borrow my Davida MC helmet for a Gentleman's Ride last year. I guess I'd put them there on my last ride in my old MotoGuzzi before I sold it and forgot about it.

Years ago I was looking through a scientific products catalogue looking for 1L graduated cylinders to mix fork oil in and I came across these Bouton safety goggles like the racers wore in the 60's. I bought 5 pair. I've used 3 (they're unbelievably handy for working underneath your car.) I have one good pair in the Spyder and one new one still in a box.

The new ones have a rubber strap vs an elastic one, but they're pretty indestructible, save for the easily scratched lenses. Amazon sells 'em.

When your money get's sucked into your other hobby that has a similar sort of Madness  This is a 50 year old Dolphin 24. She was designed by Sparkman and Stephens back in the 50's and was original designed as a wood hull. After the first few were produced in Denmark the design was taken over in the US by George O'Day the father of plastic boats. This particular boat was built my Yankee Yachts. There were responsible for the build of the production run from the late 60's to the early 80's. She is in the class of Midget Ocean Racing Design and they have been sailed around the world. Yes sailors are also crazy.

She is now ready to race and is future proofed with auxiliary electric propulsion.

That is how I spent my Covid summer.

Really pretty boat on what looks like a perfect sailing day! Here's a couple of pics of ours:IMG_1671IMG_0247 [1)Our daughters grew up sailing with us - we spent a lot of our time (and money) on the boat. After 35 years of ownership, it's became a member of the family. Unfortunately, health issues have kept me from putting it in  the water since 2014. While I kept hoping things would improve, I've accepted my issues won't allow me to sail anymore, so we've begun the process of selling our boats. A bummer, but at least I can still drive the Speedster!
