81 degrees here in North Carolina today so a driving we did go.

It's 35 or so degrees (Farenheit) here and the snow is slowly melting. Most we've had in 80 years (and winter's not over yet). At least it's sunny. It has been fun (I have 4 wheel drive so I don't care what it's doing out!) Mind you, the roads are really slick once it starts to get dark and the temperature plummets...Al
PS- Glad you got a drive in! I love the look of your car, Mike (even with the side trim on it!). Are those 15 or 16" Fuchs? Tire sizes?

Al, 15 inch Fuchs off of my 911 as I went with 16's. The tires are 185x60 and its paper tight on the left side even after filing the inside of the the fender, typical CMC.
If you widened the back rims 1" to the inside (a la uber expensive 911R 7" Fuchs) they will clear the springplates (you might have to cut the upper bump stop near the top of the shock back a wee bit) and with 205's you'd actually have more fender clearance (1/8"?) than you have now, and wider rear tires/wheels (and more grip!). And from the back it would look really, realllyyy cool! Al
Something to think about. You haven't spent any money on the car in a while, right?
PS- is your car irs or swingaxle?
Its IRS and a Speedster so of course I'm spending money. I'm working on doing the top over and new interior and it may or may get done by Carlisle.
I've found that converting to 5x130 to accommodate the Fuchs kind of locks you into that wheel choice. I have a set of steelies that looked pretty cool on mock up but Dianne is still partial to the current setup.

What an incredible weekend here in the Carolinas!
Yeah, you are limited to what shoes it can wear, but there aren't many wheels lighter than Porsche's genuine alloys (the magnesium Mahle wheels are about the only thing I can think of at the moment). Fuchs 15x6's are 12lbs and 15x7's are 13- it doesn't get much better than that! How much does that steel wheel weigh- 20lbs? Any time you can cut 7 or 8lbs of unsprung weight off each corner it's a good thing- it'll brake, accelerate and handle better. To change up the Fuchs- paint detail them. Al

Are those 5.5's that are ET 42? I'm looking to convert to 5 x 130 and steelies on my Speedster
